Yeah. And in The Angry Silence by John Burke, “being sent to Coventry” was an idiomatic expression meaning ostracism, based on that decision by Churchill to not tell Coventry they were about to be bombed.

Then the British basically incinerated Dresden, which was supposedly payback for Coventry.
