You might want to reconsider that line of thinking:
“I dont expect cops to commit suicide in a reckless attempt to save even children.”
1. Commit suicide?? They have been trained on how to approach and wear bullet proof vests and helmets. Dammit, it’s there job to protect, particularly the vulnerable among us who can’t protect themselves. Thank God that most of them are not born cowards.
“However, thats not the reason the story is changing to what the cops didnt do.” Yes it is. Facts are coming out. People are pissed off and the good cops are snitching on the inept cowards. And kids are witnesses as well. If they failed to act, they need to be held accountable.
“The goal is to blame guns, not the cowardly killer. (And, for CNN to get ratings.)”
That’s true and the added problem to blaming the killer is that he is a product of their system and they failed him and his community several times over.
Its the killer who is guilty!
But this is not a trial, yet. There are several people and institutions that we entrust and with our safety. I we PAY them to perform this job and give them pensions for life. When they fail so miserably they need to be held accountable and replaced with men and women that take their jobs and oath of office seriously.

Apparently, they’ve learned nothing from Columbine or the Pulse. “Officer safety” is no. 1 priority. Everything else is let chips (students) fall where they may.
