The local sheriffs office received at least 18 calls about Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz over the past decade including warnings that were passed on to the disgraced school deputy who failed to stop the massacre, according to a damning new report.
Records of calls about Cruz to the Broward County Sheriffs Office reveal that in February 2016, neighbors called to say they feared he planned to shoot up the school after posing for Instagram photos with firearms, USA Today reports.
The information was passed on to the sheriffs on-site officer at Stoneman Douglas High School, Deputy Scot Peterson who resigned Thursday following revelations that hed done nothing to intervene when Cruz stormed the school last week and slaughtered 17 people.
Its not clear what Peterson did with that 2016 report if anything. Cruz remained at the school for another year, before he was transferred out for threatening other students.

And the hits keep coming for this coward.
To be fair to him, he’s merely being exposed as one incompetent player on a team of incompetents, all the way up to the FBI.
This particular shooting is not about guns or even about the shooter. It is about the UTTER AND COMPLETE FAILURE OF US LAW ENFORCEMENT TO STOP A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER.
NEED TO KNOW:
<><> Was Scott Peterson’s cop salary financed wholly or partly with federal grants Broward received?
<><> Did Peterson receive bonuses or other emoluments that consisted wholly or partly of federal funds?

Cops were under standing orders to ignore teen criminal activity at the Broward school. So that the school could get federal funding, they were able to fudge crime statistics that heavily exposed Black/Hispanic crimes in order to falsely claim juvenile delinquency was down 60%!
The level of corruption is so intense - I would not be surprised if the cop on duty was under orders to STAND DOWN while children were being murdered. Was he a coward during those 4 minutes he stood outside while Cruz was firing? Or did Sheriff Israel direct him to set up a perimeter?
Lets ask Broward resident Cong Debbie W/S.
CONGRESS: Capitol Switchboard 1-866-220-0044
U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) released the following statement on the Broward County school shooting:
As a Broward County resident for nearly 30 years and an elected official for most of that time, my heart breaks for the victims, their families, friends, and loved ones. As a parent of a Broward County high school student, and as someone with friends whose children attend Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, it is gut wrenching that another senseless school shooting has occurred, this time in our community.
In the United States of America, it is simply unacceptable that we allow children to run for their lives with their backpacks on. Unacceptable that we allow parents to fear for the worst while they wait to hear back from their kids, and unacceptable that we allow survivors of school shootings to live with a trauma that can never be explained away.
I stand with my community and our families and ask all Americans to keep the parents, siblings, spouses and loved ones in their prayers this evening. No American anywhere should have to feel the pain that Broward County feels today, and too many communities have felt across our country countless times before. We must do something about this senseless epidemic of gun violence and we must do it now.
I can see the cops’ point of view. Having a guy arrested for making terroristic threats would bring about a bad public opinion of the place.
The information was passed on to the sheriffs on-site officer at Stoneman Douglas High School, Deputy Scot Peterson
Maybe that’s true, but was Peterson responsible for making contact with Cruz and arresting him for making terroristic threat 2nd degree?
...or was it for him to be on the look out, of which Peterson failed spectacularly.
The Sheriff’s office and FBI were alerted and should have taken preemptive action. I suspect the Sheriffs office process broke and the Sheriff owns that. Same with the FBI.
I’m not buying Peterson owns all of this.
So much for "It takes a village", this village only has idiots.
Was he following orders from above that prevented him from doing his job is still something to consider?
Hey, he f*cked up, big time. He is incompetent and, probably, cowardly. He did not belong on the job.
But, there is plenty of blame to go around on this one. Let's start with the school board. They changed their policy a few years ago to break that "school to prison" pipeline that afflicts youth today. They did that by not reporting crimes by students and not punishing bad behavior. This allowed students like Treyvon Martin and Nick Cruz to sail through their system without punishment or notic. Their stats now look great, except 17 students are dead. Oh, they also hired Scot Peterson. A full expose is here: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/21/its-too-late-broward-county-school-board-beginning-to-admit-their-mistakes/#more-146133
The Sheriff's department? They were only contacted over 30 times about this kid. Obviously they didn't see any problem. 30 police calls on one kid and they didn't do anything???????
The FBI? They were contacted at least twice about Cruz. They were far too busy trying to manufacture evidence against a sitting president then to do their actual job.
Scot Peterson will be drawn and quartered, as he should be, but he is far too easy a target. The sheriff and the head of the FBI should both resign.
’ one incompetent player on a team of incompetents
So much for “It takes a village”, this village only has idiots. ‘
Idiots and traitors...
They should stop blaming the NRA!
How many students were making threats of violence at that school?
So not just the local law enforcement, but children’s services and the school knew damn well this POS was trouble and NOBODY considered Baker Acting him when they had the chance? To quote Al Pacino in And Justice for All, SOMETHING REALLY WRONG IS GOING ON HERE!
Police dispatcher: "Why do you believe that?"
Caller: "Because he told me he's going to shoot up a school!"
Police dispatcher: "Okay. Thank you for your call."

If you discount the 30+ police visits to his home, 18 phone calls to the police, the tips to the FBI, and the screen shot "I'm going to be a professional school shooter." What hard evidence do you really have that this man poses a threat?
Well, if you're going to put it that way!
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
