As expected – buried deep inside a Miami Herald article about the Parkland school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, and a school board questioning their progressive policies, we find the following:

Disciplinary reports obtained by the Herald show that at Westglades Middle School, which he attended in 2013, he’d been cited numerous times for disrupting class, unruly behavior, insulting or profane language, profanity toward staff, disobedience and other rules violations.
Records show the behaviors continued at Marjory Stoneman Douglas [High School], which he attended in 2016 and 2017 before being transferred, with discipline being dispensed for fighting, profanity, and an “assault.” It appears the Jan. 19, 2017 assault resulted in a referral for a “threat assessment.” A few months later, Cruz landed at an Off Campus Learning Center, where he remained for only about five months. Public schools purposely infiltrated by the left helped ruin a nation. It goes back over a 100 years. It is no coincidence that all that could have done something are also unionized.
Many moons ago I worked for the Republican congressman from Broward County. He was a nice conservative but eventually (when he was older) he was beaten by a Democrat dentist and that started the whole slip downward into what we have today in that part of Florida.
The leftist/liberals have destroyed a lot of Florida that was one conservative and sane. I should know. Many of my grandfather’s relatives, including two brothers, settled down there in the 1910’s (Melbourne, Orlando, Coco River), and remained there. There were patriots, including “Marv” who was an Air Force intelligence agent during WW2 and later a pioneer in the computer industry/industrial park concepts.
Others worked at Cape Canaveral on the Vanguard Project and others.
They were patriots. Today, their contributions to America are being pissed upon by what they call “Democrats” and “progressives” down there.
Oh, an Sheriff Scott Israel’s ties to Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election should be beamed around the world. He was up to his neck and her ass in supporting her and the Dems.
Not to be seen on MSNBC and CNN, etc., I’ll bet you.
The question to ask....so we know what this kid did. How many other ‘creatures’ did the school board create? A dozen? A hundred?
It seems to me...this is opening up a Pandora’s Box.
And if they did this in Broward....did various other boards do it across the state? Could we have a thousand such kids existing in Florida?
You’d have to start building prisons right now...to handle the flow in ten years.

Israel is a failed FLPD beat cop. He had more citizen complaints in his file than any other cop in FLPD. I got this from a close friend who was F.L. city attorney for many years. He is a Democrat operative more than he’s a LEO.

The link to Miami Herald’s article, “Parkland Shooter always in trouble, never expelled. Could school system have done more?” includes the sweet spot of a solution that could have helped Cruz tremendously and avoided this whole calamity. Contained in this portion are the comments of the teacher, Joe Carrier, and the Cross Creek School. This school seems to have the needed elements to make the situation Cruz faced work - Mr. Carrier’s wood working class, the counselors, time outs, a gentle learning environment, and NO BULLYING. I have seen this work elsewhere, and it is beautiful.
That raises an interesting question.
Are juvenile records completely expunged at age 18?
When a gun shop runs your criminal background check, does everything pre-18 come up blank?

However, the use of arrests and referrals to the criminal justice system may decrease a student’s chance of graduation, entering higher education, joining the military, and getting a job.
WHEREAS, in the 2011-2012 school year, the Department of Juvenile Justice reported 1,062 school-related arrests in Broward County, the highest number in the state. 71% of these arrests were for misdemeanor offenses. Over half of those students had never been referred to the Juvenile Justice System before.
WHEREAS, across the country, students of color, students with disabilities and LGBTQ students are disproportionately impacted by school-based arrests for the same behavior as their peers.
WHEREAS, The Florida Legislature “encourage[s] schools to use alternatives to expulsion or referral to law enforcement agencies by addressing disruptive behavior through restitution, civil citation, teen court, neighborhood restorative justice, or similar programs” and has instructed school districts “that zero-tolerance policies are not intended to be rigorously applied to petty acts of misconduct and misdemeanors, including, but not limited to, minor fights or disturbances.”
WHEREAS, with a joint commitment to ending school-based arrests for minor misbehavior, school districts and law enforcement agencies across the country have improved school safety, school engagement and academic achievement. The parties to this agreement are confident that by working together, they can return Broward County Public Schools to a culture of common sense discipline that allows all students to enjoy a safe and effective education.

The problem is between the Broward County school boardl and the Broward County Sheriff, they didn't WANT to arrest any teens and risk giving them a felony record, because they they couldn't vote (D).
