The parents of first lady Melania Trump have become legal permanent residents of the United States and are close to obtaining their citizenship, according to people familiar with their status, but their attorney declined to say how or when the couple gained their green cards.
Immigration experts said Viktor and Amalija Knavs very likely relied on a family reunification process that President Trump has derided as “chain migration” and proposed ending in such cases.
The Knavses, formerly of Slovenia, are living in the country on green cards, according to Michael Wildes, a New York-based immigration attorney who represents the first lady and her family.

She allegedly has a half brother though that she never had a relationship with. I'll just be blunt about it. It is possible that there are questions about his paternity.
If true, I think it is sad. There are lots of people out there like that. Like my ex, never had a relationship with his half-brother. Life goes on. It doesn't seem to bother anyone now.
I heard on the radio, and it may be a dirty rumor, but Fidel Castro's son who committed suicide left a note mentioning his half-brother the Prime Minister of CAnada. As above, that could be cleared up rather easily.
It doesn't seem to bother the media about Obama's dysfunctional family, much anyway. Various aspects of it have been mentioned from time to time.
That's quite a sacrifice.

It's highly likely that Melania's parents came here legally -- and, then entered the citizenship process.
The DACA people were Criminal Invaders, and, mostly, exhibit little interest in assimilation -- much less Citizenship.
What point would there be in punishing the Knavs -- other than kissing the @$$3$ of the Wetback Lovers?

Under the Grassley plan, which Trump endorsed, family-based immigration would be limited to spouses and minor children. All other immigration would be merit-based.

Trump’s plan would limit chain migration to parents and minor children, so Melania’s parents would be admitted under his plan. What is the issue?
