Excerpt from the Miami Herald:
“... the Florida Retirement System Pension Plan holds shares valued at $528,000 in American Outdoor Brands Co. Formerly known as Smith & Wesson, American Outdoor manufactured the AR-15 rifle that Nikolas Cruz allegedly used to kill 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school. The total shares held is 41,129.”
“Thats not all: Bloomberg also found that the Pension Plan has investments in Sturm, Ruger & Co., Vista Outdoor Inc., and Olin Corp, which all make firearms...”

So what? The gun didn’t kill anybody.
Authorities at every level were warned dozens of times about the person who did the killing.

While some of those companies manufacture firearms and ammunition, many also diversify into other markets. Olin Corp for example does a lot of stuff with chemicals and even makes skis both under “Olin” and “K2” brands.
Those companies have been doing well over the Obama terms so it would make sense to have some investment going there.

Good for the teachers’ pension fund!
hopefully the manufacturer will be able to secure contacts to sell good firearms to all the schools, too....for firearms safety and target and defense practice, and shooting sports for the kids

Well, they probably also invest in companies that make abortion-related drugs, hardware or services, so they could just move those bad gun funds there. Happy students!

I have no clue where my pension funds are invested, other than general account type.
How does one find out?

Pension plans provide an annual report available to all participants.
You might have to go digging for it. But start with your HR department.

Mine is run by the government... if I ask HR I’ll get a thousand yard stare.
But I may ask the question just to watch their heads explode.
