Acquaintances from the early years remember that the Graham youngsters were less than models of decorum in their behavior at church and other public gatherings, but Ruth did her best to exercise a rather stern and consistent discipline at home. She claimed to have obtained some of her most effective child-rearing techniques from a dog-training manual whose directives included keeping commands simple and at a minimum, seeing to it that they were obeyed, rewarding obedience with praise and being consistent.
Three of the five Graham children have divorced. Ruth was the first. When she discovered that her husband had been engaged in a long-running affair, she was devastated. At first I resorted to my familiar pattern of denial covering over my hurt with spiritual platitudes. I prayed. I fasted. I forgave. I claimed Bible promises. I did all Id been taught to do. I also hid my problems from everyone, humiliated that others especially my family would find out.

One of these days the term “Christian Soldiers” will mean something.
How about they look into Katherine Graham’s family?
This is what they publish the day he dies?
How repugnant.
They had to have had this ready and waiting for this day.
I'd rather defenestrate than investigate.
Three good men (and you, if you like) and we could clear the building.
WOW, that didn’t take long.
My thoughts exactly.
Bastards.
This is Jeff Bezos at work folks.

Good grief, most pastors kids are that way.
I know, because I was a deacon’s kid and hung out with the preacher’s kids.
In Numbers 12...the sister of Moses, Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses’ wife who was an Ethiopian and against Moses. The most egregious thing was Miriam claiming to be equal in prophetic ministry to Moses. This provoked God to actually speak to both Miriam and Aaron out in the open where everyone could hear it. Aaron seems to have been spared the worst of God’s wrath but Miriam was struck with leprosy. Moses prayed for her but God said she would have to suffer for 7 days. God explained that it was Moses alone that would be allowed to speak to him mouth to mouth and “not in dark words”.
My point in all this is that even the best Christian leaders have children and relatives who go bad, even as the best examples of parents these leaders knew how to be. The Washington Post reporters are snakes. They know that being “good parents’ is no guarantee that all the kids will be as righteous.
The man’s body isn’t even cold yet and the libfilth media are already trashing him. Gawd, I despise those f***ing people.
Typically these big papers have such articles and an obit waiting to go when a famous person passes away - no telling how long ago the bulk of this was written. They sure didn’t waste any time spewing it out there.
Honestly, this is disgusting!
No earthly parent can be perfect. But you could be the perfect parent and still have children go astray. Biblical case in point: Adam, whose father-creator was God.
Skippy, why don't cha?
Martin is pitiful.
way to go, WaPo, the man isn’t even in his grave yet.
Decorum nowadays seems more a learned skill, rather than everyday behavior.
And so the trashing begins...
Looking through microfilmof The NY Times from November 22, 1963. I dont see any reports of JFKs serial philandering or mention of his Addisons Disease. Talk about a hatchet job on Rev. Graham. The Slimes lives up to its nickname today.
How evil of these hateful attackers to try to ruin the reputation of this man of God after his death. This is why this publication is despised by people who care about others.
