I have seen you post some doozies but that statement takes the prize.
Thanks.
Some days, I feel that my Chrome is in a battle with whatever Jim uses.
Good reference.
the internet is the great equalizer. Twitter Corp has no monopoly on programming and hardware. It has a head start but so did Blockbuster, Buggy whip manufacturers and the Chimney Sweeps.
Just go to Gab or any other site. If you want just peak but otherwise mock them and hit them by making fun of them. Humor is much more devastating than anger. If someone is mad at you and screaming, the worst thing you can do to them is just laugh at them.
So don’t cuss, don’t throw a fit but calmly plan the destruction of their platform with fake news, snowflakery of epic proportions and other humorous and delicious subversive activities. Make up conventions, give out false news releases, fabricate polls and mock any that attack you.
I don’t agree. You are playing on the enemy’s terms.
Get off Twitter and lower its revenues until it gets fair.
Everyone conservative except Trump should get off Twitter now.
Instead of twatters we could be Freepers! Then we can Freep things. Great idea. Get it started.
Facebook, Twitter, Snap Chat, all run by enemies of WTP.
For those who joined and follow, you are to be saluted. Because of you, information is filtered to the rest of us (those who don’t ‘do’ social media and never will) Social media, when revealed, as been anything but. These businesses do nothing more than lower common courtesy, decency, and moral values. They’ve become a pox on society. NOTHING ‘special’ about them.
Not the first time a business has lost clients due to their totalitarian rules and regulations. At what point will saturation be reached and the bending begin?
You have a good point.
However, (and I dont have the moments necessary to source this) existing law protects publications/forums/services that dont exercise editorial overview (and Id bet some gentle culling is supported by case law).
On the other hand, once a publication clearly exercise control over whats permitted, its then liable for what is published.
By taking these steps, Twitter is making itself liable for all the gross things that it has chosen not to censor. Investigations showing celebrities paying for fake followers, and the infamous 13 Russian bot-masters, will not save them from this liability.
Of course, someone actually has to take them to court on it, or the liability is nothing.
That the Jews did not listen to Hitlers propaganda broadcasts did not help them. The problem was that *OTHER PEOPLE* were listening to those broadcasts, and acting on them.
I don’t think they will.
Bump. Following to see if any good happens from writing columns about it.
Will people do anything other than whine is what I am constantly wondering these days.
Maybe Hannity will have a FOX News Alert! Whoopty doo.
OK I don’t completely understand Twitter, but I thought it took quite a bit of effort to get the “blue check” next to your name?
There is absolutely nothing that stops a conservative from starting a Facebook or Twitter competitor tomorrow, or from buying a broadcast license for a radio or TV station. Heck -- the fortunes of these traditional media outlets like TV and newspapers are so awful that you can buy them cheap.
What you seem to be suggesting is that we're too stupid or disinterested to do that, so we have to force Facebook and Twitter into public utilities.
Fake the phone number!
Instead of whining constantly and then quietly rolling over for all the abuse Bay Area companies dish out. Maybe conservatives oughta try to (seriously) support alternatives and lead efforts to break up current monopolies. No I don’t mean using gab.ai for a month or two then dropping it. I don’t mean whining on a forum then going back to using facebook. This is who they are. You can’t expect these companies to change except to get better at hiding their true colors.
Well, no it isnt! Its a stupid service offered by a private company that we got addicted to like a meth addict, and now we are screaming because they are regulating the supply.
If a substantial number of people are using them, they are the defacto "commons".
For "free speech" to have a purpose, it must be capable of reaching the people, wherever the people happen to be.
In the Twitter expose’ done by James O’Keefe, it seemed like nearly every employee was a foreign-born tech staff member. Surely these are people working on green cards. They are extremely interested in making Americans conform to their idea of social morality; social justice; etc - and aren’t even citizens of the USA.
I can’t figure out why more users aren’t more wary of providers like Twitter, where they are being manipulated and ‘engineered’ into conforming, 24/7.
Leftists are in control of the social media sites, and are getting off enforcing leftist speech codes, while the government sits by helpless. We do not have freedom of speech in this country. Haven’t had it for 30-40 years.
It is a virtual monopoly.
It is not a public utility and should never be used as a primary official means of communication.
"Should never be" and "is" are two different things. It is being used as a significant means of communications, and we cannot ignore the influence it has on the public.
I like how you think.
