DirecTVs NFL Sunday Ticket cable package just got more expensive for football fans.
The standard version of the service, which allows subscribers to stream every NFL game, will cost $293.94 for the 2018 NFL season, according to DirecTVs website. That price marks an increase of about 4% from last season, when the basic version of NFL Sunday Ticket cost $281.94.
An upgraded version of the package, which includes the NFL Red Zone channel and exclusive fantasy football analysis, will see a price hike to $395.94, up more than 4% compared to last year. The price increases were met with widespread criticism on Twitter, where some subscribers threatened to cancel the service.

The cable service granted refunds to customers last season after some filed complaints about ongoing player national anthem protests, the Wall Street Journal reported. AT&T did not address the situation at the time.

I bought the NHL Center Ice package three years ago during a promotion. Little did I know it was on automatic renewal so I had to call DTV and make them take it off and I told them to make sure it didn't renew automatically. This current season they renewed it again and I called to complain. They bumped me up to a higher level guy and he finally took it off so now I can't watch the NHL but they are still billing me for it and will not stop.
I just cancelled DTV and signed up for Verizon FIOS. I am now paying less money for more channels (without any promotions)and I will not have to deal with AT&T. Since AT&T bought out DirecTV the prices went through the roof and the customer service hit rock bottom.
If you really must watch the NFL, don’t watch it live or pay any attention to sports news. Watch it the next day on youtube with no commercials, takes around 45 minutes for an entire game.

Thanks.
I don't watch the anti-American NFL but, I do use YouTube to watch all the college games.
I cancelled my automatic renewal to Sunday Ticket a couple of weeks ago, when the NFL doubled down on funding SJW causes. The guy at DirecTV didn’t ask why or try to dissuade me. I guess they are burned out on that approach.
Think of it as a season pass for home viewing. The money for last season was already sunk. The real test will be when the demand for renewal, which isn’t for a while, takes a nosedive.
I had a Sunday ticket when I moved to California and kept it to watch the Cowboys play. The thing was, with the difference in time zones, I seldom got out of bed in time to watch much of the early games, so didn’t use what I had.
They are going out of biz...
I’m thinking about doing that, too. Even now, the broadcast schedule has me watching only one two shows and week and cable about the same. It’s the most expensive background noise I have.
I've used it was years...and it's well worth it.
I think...like $95 for just watching "your" team...and $125..to watch all games.
You’re not alone. I only ‘watched’ three or four games last year. The rest was having the TV on why I did other stuff. No more for me, either.
My DirecTV runs about $2500 a year. As for crap, it’s exactly the same programming you’ll get with cable, so good luck with that. I already pay a basic price for cable with my HMO, whether I use it or not. And since dumping Sunday Ticket, I have little reason to stay with DTV. Considering cutting the dish.
It works to a point. The people who still watch are likely to pay more to get their fix.
And having excellent luck with that!
Do you find enough interesting content with streaming? Or do you watch TV at all now?
I just did the math and the savings can buy a lot of beer, ammo and other accessories for my favorite AR, 1911 or my F-150.
Priorities, my friend. Priorities.
I’m retired with adequate finance and all the toys I want.
Nowadays, it doesn’t really matter. It’s like the lady said in my favorite commercial, “It’s like Daddy says. Money doesn’t spend itself.” LOL
I am retired as well. My Dad loved to say that “if money was meant to be held on to, it would have a handle”. Bless his heart! :-)
LOL
I cancelled mine mid-season last year, and told DirecTv why, to boot.
