I grew up in Florida. No way people down there are giving up their guns.

Not a lot of people walking around on the street, everyone travels by car. So there’s a sense of isolation, even in Metro areas.
No basements or attics for people to hide in, and very few 2 story houses. This makes people feel more vulnerable in their homes.
Warm weather all year round means perps will never say “it’s too cold out tonight to commit a robbery, I’m staying in”.
When a person screams for help, their voices are likely to be muted by closed windows, and drowned out by the never ending noise from air conditioners that run practically all year long.
People from Palm Beach, Miami and Tampa constitute a minority of the state’s voters.
There’s a reason FL is a heavily GOP state. People’s values in most of the state are Southern rather than Yankee.
So the media portrait of FL as Broward County write large is misleading and far from the truth.
