a recognition that the problem could not be resolved through a military option. Which is why Kerry is an idiot. You keep that option on the table esp. for tyrannical regimes. They will respect little else.

I’d say “traitor” more than idiot. I always attribute such acts to malice, because claiming that they’re explained by stupidity is just too kind.
