The $69 question Senator Warren chooses to ignore

For just $69, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren could settle the question of her ancestry once and for all.

That is the sale price (regularly $99) that Ancestry DNA is charging for searching your family genealogy.

Millions of Americans have done it, either through Ancestry, 23andMe or some other ancestry research organization.

Better still, she could walk down the street in Cambridge and consult with fellow Harvard educator Henry Louis Gates Jr., who hosts the popular and fascinating PBS television program “Finding Your Roots.

All my life I thought I was Blackfoot, due to the fact my maternal grandfather was raised on the White Cloud reservation in Missouri.

My mother did the test. Not a drop of Indian blood. Turns out her dad wasn’t really her dad.

Unfortunately, I’m massively Irish with some Portuguese in there to confuse people.

Warren filled a vial with saliva for her DNA test.

The DNA company wrote back that it had been classified as toxic waste.

The DNA company asked her to submit another saliva sample without the bull$hit residue in it.

Since Billy-Jeff Clinton gave up his blood for the DNA match to the ‘Blue Dress,’ certainly, Hiawatha can spit in a cup.

Even if she has indian blood, a DNA test may not show it.

An autosomal DNA test may not conclusively prove you are part Cherokee particularly if it is 4-5 generations back and a small amount or even a one-off in Warren’s case. It depends on what is passed down. Not everyone inherits the same DNA. That’s why brothers have certain differences. Cherokee ethnicity may show up or not.

I know that for a fact because I am quite certain I am 1/32 Cherokee yet my ancestry DNA test did not show any Indian ethnicity. The ethnicity mappings are just not accurate for one-offs.

The main reason for those tests is to match against distant cousins. Warren could find out if she maps to any cousins known to descend from the family in question.

So Autosomal DNA tests are great and useful but it is a bit more complicated than what the author is saying. But since Warren appears to be quite interested in her ancestry she should certainly take the test - not for the ethnicity report so much - but to identify her distant cousins.

The “high cheek bones” which are apparently the entire basis of Senator Warren’s assertion she is of Native American descent, are not necessarily of that origin. Many of Eastern European descent also have similar high cheek bones, an indication they are of Slavic descent. Slavs, in turn, are probably latter-day remnants of the Golden Horde that swept across the Asian steppes as far as the Middle East and across the Urals, under Kublai Khan, spreading their genetic heritage.

Stick to theories that are at least plausible.

Good point. Melania has high, elegant cheekbones. I doubt that she has a drop of Cherokee blood in her DNA...Slavic Goddess yes, Cherokee, no.

A genealogical society looked into it when she ran in 2012. They found no evidence of American Indian ancestors of Sen. Person of Color. The local moonbats where I live in Massachusetts to this day insist that she is in fact part Indian despite the absence of ANY evidence beyond what her parents or grandparents supposedly told the Fake Indian about “high cheekbones.”

It is beyond obvious to anyone with a speck of intelligence that she lied to advance her career. These loons, however, refuse to acknowledge that she is NOT an Indian and call anyone who points out the facts a “bigot” and “stupid.” I tried to get through to these Leftists on a local message board but was met with insults and no factual discussion. I didn’t usually post there because it is populated by crackpots but chimed in to challenge their slamming Trump as a “bigot” because he calls Warren “Pocahontas.” After about a dozen posts with no response to the FACTS of the matter and verbal abuse from two moonbats who called me “stupid,” I ended my very short career posting there. I’ve never gone back and never will. These people are blinded by ideology and would vote for her no matter what. That’s how people like her and Ted Kennedy post Chappaquiddick get elected. UGH!

Ancestry is exponential. We are all a tiny bit of everything.

I always did wanted to talk to my Cro-Magnon father about chipping rock blades and painting caves.

I gotta take me one of them thar tests..

I am ‘cut’ and I am pretty sure I am not Jewish(oops), I do have high cheekbones(oops) but also have blown up sinuses.

But being C’d and having (in my eye <:) relatively small equipment I may be able to find my lineage.

Probably don’t really want to find out ‘someone’ had an affair with a pigmy OR is that still little people?

Hard to keep track of what is Kosher (oops) maybe if I go on a date and we Dutch (oops) Treat I can borrow the $69(oops) dollars.

She will not go for a DNA test because it will show the truth. That is why Obama spent over one million dollars in 2008 in Philadelphia in front of Judge R. Barclay Surrick to keep from having to show his birth certificate. Judge Surrick eventually used the excuse that the plaintiff did not have the right to sue under the Constitution. She will continue to take the same tact forever, and will continue to claim Indian heritage.
