This grasping government will never stop at banning fake “assault weapons.” Once it begins to trim back freedom’s tree, it does not stop until nothing remains but kindling.
Ask farmers and ranchers what the EPA did to their property rights under the benign Clean Air and Clean Water regulations.They couldn’t improve or sell their own land if water appeared on it after a heavy rain. That’s the way greedy government abuses power. Beware allowing the nose of the camel into your tent.
The 2nd Amendment doesn’t grant the right to bear arms anyway; it only recognizes it and places restrictions on the government.

At the end of the Roman Republic, Sulla came to the realization that laws, be they written in stone, paper, or in our case electrons, only apply if you have the will or power to enforce them. If that is not there, they don’t really matter.
A judge could rule today that the 2nd amendment no longer applies, and that would be just about it. The only thing that has kept it this long is the fact that we are in general an armed society. With the demographics, that is changing.
Plan accordingly.

I suspect you are right, and I have for some time. These shootings happen all too often at the perfect time to change the current debate, or take the news focus off a leftist scandal, or a political win for the Republicans, like an improvement in the economy.

Eliminating 2A will do what no other enemy against America could ever do let alone dream of. The enemy is within our country and it’s the liberal.
About “reasonable controls”; if I recall correctly, that’s how a persons rights are stripped away incrementally.
I believe this same argument was used in the 1930’s to promulgate Germany’s racial purity and marriage laws.
They used the same “reasonable controls” to deal with the mentally and physically handicapped in their country.
Then the same “reasonable controls” were applied to any political opposition.
Ultimately those “reasonable controls” were applied to any Jew or any person who had a Jewish ancestor.
I personally don’t much care for OTHER PEOPLES REASONABLE CONTROLS.
That’s nothing compared to the “fight” they would have if they succeed.

Nor do I. I'm being realistic. Perhaps the only need is to enforce the laws. In this last massacre, it's unbelievable how many situations weren't addressed that would've stopped this. Could it be that the laws on the book aren't being enforced so that there will be demands for more laws?

When you look back at every past school shooting, there is one objective that comes through loud and clear after each one - nullifying the Second Amendment. It has been the the consistent thread that connects all past school shootings. If the Deep State could orchestrate an operation to achieve this objective, what would that operation look like? It would look exactly like the seemingly endless string of school shootings that have taken place across the land over the last decade or so. Now, who would be vile enough to orchestrate such repetitive operations against the American people?

That is just one of the plethora of warnings from the originators of our Constitution, that "militia" meant ALL THE PEOPLE, not JUST the National guard.
