Certainly, his subsequent frequent and vociferous public retelling of the Russiagate allegations against Trump suggest that he played a (and probably the) instigating role. Its beginning to look like BRENNAN at CIA may well have been the originator of the entire "Dossier" saga ... this is looking worse and worse - but at least its being uncovered, piece by piece, brick by brick.

The author is a well-known Princeton History Professor who is probably THE living authority on the Soviet Union and Russia. For this piece to be published in The Nation (a lefty publication) speaks VOLUMES, doesn't it?

I would just like to add that yesterday Scott Adams officially endorsed the idea that what happened here was indeed a “deep state coup attempt” against the President of the United States.

His point was that if there were an alternative explanation for the “insurance policy” text and related matters, IT WOULD HAVE COME OUT BY NOW.

Remember that Adams understodd and predicted the Trump phenomenon long before anyone else, and has been basically 100% spot-on with hsi predictions for the Trump Presidency for the past year.

Initially he was skeptical of the darker interpretations of the “insurance policy” text, but now ...

Here’s the “secret” that everyone is ignoring.

Before the election Obama and everyone knew Russia was trying to sow seeds of distrust in our democracy/voting system.

But when Hillary lost and they realized they’d get caught illegally spying on Trump they had to spin a web of deceit. So they said Russia and Trump were colluding together. Now when the collusion between Steele, Hillary, and Russia comes out no one will believe it or they’ll say everyone does it so it doesn’t matter.

However, with Mueller indicting the Russian trolls that means he should also indict Christopher Steele for the same thing. He was trying to influence our election via a fake dossier. And then indict Hillary because she paid him to do it.

About time some other writer “noticed” that the troika of Brennan-Clapper-NSA was leading the DOJ/FBI (whether Mueller/McCabe/Comey/Rosenstein by the nose the whole time.

remeber, it was those 17 (er, 3) “Intelligence agancies” who claimed that THEY had evidence that the Russians were spying/interfering/colluding with the Trump campaign. Without Obola’s “17 intelligence agencies” all “independently verifying” the democrats’ charges, the public could not be conned into accepting the national press corpse’s narrative.

Once “anointed” by the incense of a “legitimate” FBI investigation (based on Hillary’s fake dossier), the NSA could be set loose on ANYBODY the Obola administration wanted to attack. Then Susan Rice could get the Trump team names to the press to feed their “justification by smoke to claim a fire”. (And why is UN ambassador requesting the release of hundreds of American citizen names investigated by the NSA based on a fake FBI investigation (??) - How did SHE find out what the names were to order THEM released ?? )

You’ve got to remember that Cohen knows the history of the Soviet Union, gulags, mass-murder, “repression”, better than ANYONE here in the US. Fluent in RUssian, he has spent decades poring over the old KGB archives.

I remember his doing a TV documentary about 26-27 years ago on Stalin’s mass-murder system that included crematoria in every large city or town, that worked non-stop for years disposing of the bodies - right up to the day that Hitler invaded Russia in 1941.

It was clear to me (as an emigre from Communism) that Cohen “got it” and had learned the right lesson from the horror that was the Soviet Union.

Make no mistake - the behind-the-scenes machinations of “Intelgate” are “G-rated” child’s play compared to what went on in the Soviet Union for the better part of a century. I think that seeing this kind of thing happening in the USA, would have angered Cohen, who KNOWS firsthand what totalitarianism looks like - and this was a “baby step” towards that kind of thing...

In order to defend itself against the memo’s charge that it used Steele’s unverified dossier to open its investigation into Trump’s associates, the FBI claims it was prompted instead by a May 2016 report of remarks made earlier by another lowly Trump adviser, George Papadopoulos, to an Australian ambassador in a London bar. Even leaving aside the ludicrous nature of this episode, the public record shows it is not true.

For those such as I who have liberal friends and family, remember . . .

1. Facts do NOT matter to them

2. They (Liberals, progressives or whatever they call themselves these days) have to go through the stages of Denial, Anger,Bargaining, Depression. Unfortunately they will never ever ever reach the stage of acceptance.

This was a conspiracy not of government agencies but of trusted employees of the government acting as individuals led by Brennan to bring down a president they did not like or whom they feared would upset their existing power relationships. . The individuals each had a job in furtherance of the conspiracy's plans to undermine, overthrow, and destroy Trump one step at a time.

The known conspirators so far are: Brennan, Hillary, Clapper, Strzok, Page, Yates, Nellie Ohr, Bruce Ohr, John Podesta, Rice, McCabe, and Comey. (Watch for Sid Blumenthal's name. He reported directly to Brennan and Hillary from manufactured overseas sources)

These people met. They talked. They schemed. They planned each in their own respective skill area to impede Trump, to get the goods on him even if falsely, to create false stories damaging his family and his credibility. These were to be put in place so as to look like a historical record that could never be traced back to the originators and conspirators.

The goal was to spread stink all over Trump in every respect by false allegations, hints of conspiracy, black news, rumors, and dirty stories, gossip from unnamed "Russian" sources, rumors, "reports" and intelligence intercepts. The goal was to destroy a sitting president.

What people don’t seem to understand is that Russia has PR companies that try to sway US and other country elections. But so does Canada, England, and France as well as others. This is nothing new. And its nothing that our friends don’t do. Israel does this in America all the time with people who are citizens of both countries. This is not so much espionage as it is PR. The US has indicted 3 small Russian PR firms. And by the way. The US does this back.

On October 10th during the debate, Donald Trump said he would reopen the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.

At that moment in time, the FBI was sitting on thousands of Hillary Clinton emails that had been discovered on Anthony Weiner/Huma Abedin’s laptop computer. Some of these were classified. AND THEY HAD NOT TOLD CONGRESS!

Hillary Clinton was staring at dozens of 18 US CODE 793(f) felonies for losing classified information.... if James Comey was not in charge at the FBI.

They had to cash in the “Insurance Policy”. 11 days later, the FBI had their much desired FISA warrant on Carter Page, using the Trump Dossier. From that point forward, it was about taking Trump down to save their hides.
