Kasich to Trump: 'Take some steps' on gun control
CNN ^ | Feb. 18, 2018 | Eli Watkins,

Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich said the deadly school shooting on Wednesday should be a rallying moment for the nation on guns, but he predicted Congress would not live up to the task, and suggested the President should take the lead.

"Do I think they can do anything on guns? I hope they prove me wrong and they can because I have no confidence in them," Kasich said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

"We need leadership out of the executive," he said. "This is a great opportunity for common sense steps that can be taken. ... Mr. President, I ask you to do this. You don't have to boil the ocean, but take some steps now."

Kasich should take the lead by releasing his armed security. Why does an elected official deserve any more protection than the average citizen?

Isn’t legislation kind of out of the executive branch hands until a bill needs signed or vetoed ? Or, is Kasich wanting an anti-2nd EO that would be swatted down by the supremes ? Either way, his calling out the President to either submit legislation or write an EO is ludicrous.

I’ll be SO glad when he is gone from office! He’ll probably land in the DC swamp among all the other RAT-Commie swamp creatures. BTW — Hey Johnny, we didn’t hear much from you when those two cops were killed in Westerville — right in your own backyard! POS RAT-Commie!

"'Take some steps' on gun control."

You can control them a lot better if you are standing still and using a rest.

If you take a few steps forward, you’re more likely to hit what you’re aiming at.

He wants a ban. No elite class likes the idea of peasants who are armed.

Have you all noticed the Leftists only point to guns as being the ‘problem”?

While we are drawing attention to:
1. Local law enforcement who was called to the shooters home 39 times and did not Baker Act him.
2. FBI who ignored clear warnings about the shooter.
3. NAACP who participated in stopping reporting of student criminal infractions to the police.
4. Teachers, social workers, doctors who are reluctant to report a bad kid because it will mean hours of busy work to defend the report.
5. Hollywood who produces extremely violent films depicting the glory of killing another person.
6. Video game producers who create addictive violent games and in the case of Nikolas Cruz where he engaged in violent gaming 15 hours per day.

They all got the Marxist infection deep... wondering if they are not blackmailed as I would not be surprised Kasich pressured to welcome all these transvestites

John Kasich is a traitor to our Second Amendment freedom and he was almost single handedly responsible for the 1994 assault weapons ban because of his behind-the-scenes betrayal of his Republican colleges. He also voted for the Brady law.

The Wikipedia article below explains how the Republicans had successfully blocked the Assault Weapons Ban until Kasich negotiated a sellout with Leon Panetta. I once (many, many years ago) thought Kasich had presidential potential, but now I know that he is a enemy to all conservatives.

“All these people say “do something about guns”... When I was a high level manager I always told my subordinates if you come to me with a complaint you better also have a suggestion on how to fix it. What would these folks suggest?”

I agree with this 100%. As an executive you better be bringing me recommendations and solutions and what you are prepared to do. But it does make Kasich feel better about himself by crying “do something!”

And what does mr. Kasick have in mind with in our constitutional framework? Which brings me to the so called mentally ill. Know this if nothing else in this discussion. Peoples civil and constitutional rights are removed only for adjudicated finding by a court— NOT A LIST somewhere. What is mental illness?? be very specific. It is patently absurd to think that you can take civil rights away without due process. Do you actually think that the 2nd amendment can be denied because some doctor is judge and jury? Don’t be silly. You would have a doctor conclude that all Christians are mentally ill . for God ‘s sake!! No — you have to go to court. You have a lawyer or one appointed for you and you get a jury trial!! I am embarrassed for those that think otherwise.

I don’t recall any libs or sons of mailmen telling Obama to take steps on gun control when he had two years when he could’ve done it with not a single problem. NOW it’s Trump’s problem?
