For over three months theres been an 800lb gorilla in the corner of the discussion desperately being avoided by an incurious corporate media.
In the fall of 2017 Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson and Clinton-Steele Dossier author Christopher Steele were in frequent media stories. However, on December 2nd 2017 the first outline of previously invisible FBI Agent Peter Strzok and FBI Attorney Lisa Page hit the headlines.
Pete and Lisa were soon joined by other previous DOJ/FBI invisibles like Bruce Ohr, Nellie Ohr, Jim Rybicki, James Baker and he-who-shall-not-be-named. Eventually the ripple effect expanded to include David Laufman (DOJ) and Mike Kortan (FBI).
However, one thing has been brutally missing throughout the three months . theres been no media interviews or statements by anyone.
Additionally, in a rather odd dynamic theres no appetite by any media to get any of the names on record, for anything . not.a.word. Not a single satellite truck outside any house. No-media knocking on doors for comment(s). No TV pundits seeking exclusive interviews to set the record straight, etc. Its as if everyone in the DOJ/FBI small group is carrying has an Ebola virus that destroys healthy narrative cells.
Nothing.
Nada.
Zylch.
Not a single Washington beat journalist writing a sentence about any of the crew to include any actual statement or inquisitive question of them. Nothing. Pete, Lisa, Bruce, Nellie, Jim, James, Bill, David, Mike, Andy nothing. All of them collectively create the silence of an 800lb gorilla sitting over there while the incurious media look away.
Think carefully about this. Theres not even a comment to say no comment.
Reverse the politics and ask yourself if the media would intentionally avoid questioning the White House staff if Adam Schiff was speaking their names and executive office staff was demoted, removed, reassigned, investigated, forcibly-retired or quit without notice. Do you think media would just as similarly avoid trying to interview them?
.And along comes the political sanctimony of James Comey. With a book to sell and an incurious media.
Oh sure, Comey has his defenders. However, theres a battalion of people inside the DOJ and FBI who would love nothing more than a few moments of uninterrupted interrogation time with the lying liar who lies.
Hows the need to ignore the 800lb gorilla going to work with a simultaneous book tour?
RosenWeasel’s wife is an attorney that FIGHTS FOIA requests about Democrats!!
Who have I left out?Ms.Strzok
“....The hangings need to include about a quarter of the Media.”
and as others will likely say, “well, that’s a good beginning”.
Watergate was an inept effort by a Republican president who was dumb enough to get caught. I despise Nixon for his legacy of executive abuse; Watergate just proved his stupidity and paranoia.
>>The article rightly points out that we are confronted by silence from all involved.<<
But that’s not what the point of the article was. The point was that the media hasn’t been hounding a single one of them as they would if the perps had been conservatives.
Think about that. No one in the mainstream media has tried to get them to explain what they did, why they did it, why they were fired or removed, etc.
This is a great example of finding a story in something that didn’t happen, rather than something that did.
>> I would be very highly skeptical that they haven’t been approached. They surely have been.<<
You might be right about that. Still, compare the present situation with what we’d be observing if the table was reversed and the media was faced with a bunch of conservatives who’d been advised by their lawyers to clam up.
You’d have reporters camped on their lawns, perp walks every time they left the house, constant reminders by talking heads that so and so refuses to respond to reporters’ questions, etc. Also, reporters would be seeking out their lawyers and badgering them with accusatory questions.
We’ve really had none of that. Instead, we’ve had precious little evidence of any interest whatsoever from the mainstream press, at least that I have seen. Have you seen otherwise?
>>But, why care if you are damaging your reputation beyond all repair when the only ones left reading you are liberals looking for a little confirmation bias.<<
Sadly, that’s not the case. Far too many people who aren’t all that interested in politics day to day are being duped by the mainstream press on a regular basis.
As a great example, just look at the polling on the tax bill immediately after it was passed. Even though anyone could use one of the many common on-line calculators to figure out the impact on their own taxes, a sizable majority of the American voters still thought they were not getting a tax cut at all. They didn’t care about the politics enough to check the impact on their own taxes; they just believed what they heard in the mainstream press, as they usually do.
Fortunately, that lie is coming back to bite liberals in the butts big time because the lie is now being exposed across the country with each new paycheck being issued. But don’t forget that that same deceitful media managed to get Hillary the majority of the popular vote by burying all of her faults.
post # 49 pretty much says it all about MSM mockingbird/echo chamber
Truth is despised and there is no end to this present danger of warfare, so long as money props up 85% or more of the Leftist elite media. Money is buying and selling Anti-Americanism, mainstreaming its speech and activities.
They are attempting to hold on long enough to see a post-Trump return to collapsing the USA.
Did you experience the same Watergate that I did?
Nixon surrounded himself with unethical advisors and assistants. Those people diverted money from a re-election campaign into a dirty tricks fund which was then used to burglarize the opposition party's headquarters in order to install audio surveillance.
When Nixon learned of the criminal behavior of those on his team he not only contemplated raising hush money to hide the conspiracy, he also failed to enforce the laws of the United States, one of the chief duties of the President.
As the conspiracy unraveled, the President allowed dozens of his associates to perjure themselves and obstruct justice, knowing all along that this was happening.
And don't even get me started on Nixon's enemies list and his use of the IRS to target those enemies.
I'm willing to believe that Hillary's and Obama's crimes are more serious than Watergate. I'm not willing to believe that Nixon was unfairly forced from office by the media.

I suggest you read Silent Coup by Len Colodny, it gives a much needed perspective on Watergate.
A certain amount of dirty tricks was standard for politics then, and continues today. The people in Watergate believed they were simply repaying the favor for dirty tricks done to them.
What was different about Watergate was the full throated use of all the progressive media to destroy their hated “enemy” Richard Nixon.
They had already succeeded in destroying McCarthy and in getting Kennedy elected over Nixon the first time.
Watergate was where the Mediacracy showed they controlled the political process much more than the politicians or parties did.
Odd. My recollection is that at least 48 people were convicted of felonies, quite a few for perjury, and most of the people were lawyers.

We have been lied to a lot. It has been going on for a long time.
Quite a few were plea bargains and process crimes.
More from Geoff Shepard at this link:
8 people were found guilty in the actual burglary.
6 were found guilty in the coverup, mostly on John Dean’s testimony, which was highly questionable.
This information from the NYTs shows 48 people and 20 corporations plead guilty.
