And don’t even get me started on Nixon’s enemies list and his use of the IRS to target those enemies.

I’m willing to believe that Hillary’s and Obama’s crimes are more serious than Watergate. I’m not willing to believe that Nixon was unfairly forced from office by the media.

The same media simply ignored more serious crimes by Wilson, Roosevelt and Johnson (admittedly, when they thought they could elect a more leftist Democrat, they turned on Johnson). The unethical advisors and assistants consisted primarily of John Dean, who manipulated and lied to everyone else to promote his personal agenda.

I suggest you read Silent Coup by Len Colodny, it gives a much needed perspective on Watergate.

A certain amount of dirty tricks was standard for politics then, and continues today. The people in Watergate believed they were simply repaying the favor for dirty tricks done to them.

What was different about Watergate was the full throated use of all the progressive media to destroy their hated “enemy” Richard Nixon.

They had already succeeded in destroying McCarthy and in getting Kennedy elected over Nixon the first time.

Watergate was where the Mediacracy showed they controlled the political process much more than the politicians or parties did.

Odd. My recollection is that at least 48 people were convicted of felonies, quite a few for perjury, and most of the people were lawyers.

Nixon, unlike President Obama, never actually used the IRS to target those enemies. The IRS, in Nixon’s case, refused to do it.
