In a laughable demonstration of bias, the political news world -- from the NY Times to The Hill are just ablaze trying to turn one disgruntled, old fart into a "worrisome trend" for the Republican: Al Hoffman, Jr. is threatening to quit donating to Republicans if they don't stop supporting gun rights.
Is that a threat or a promise? Hoffman's chief donations have been to super-PACs supporting Jeb Bush, attacking McCain's primary- and general-election opponents. Oh, yeah... And he's already a never-Trumper... apparently he'll only give to Republicans who help thwart Trump's legislative agenda, or something like that. He even wrote an editorial in USA Today in April, 2006 pleading with big donors to join together to stomp out Pres. Trump's already-then inevitable presidential run. Yes, he was organizing Republican donors to defeat the Republican candidate.
And this is no recent conversion: Apparently Hoffman has ALWAYS opposed gun rights. Well, that's a little embarrassing for McCain and JEB!, isn't it? He's also big into real-estate development... in Florida... so dare we ask his opinion on illegal immigration?

Bet this guy won’t refuse to take President’s tax reduction though, just like the Bush clan and Romney.
Never even heard of this guy.
one less RINO
Good riddance to an a-hole.
It’s funny because the leftists will yell, kick and scream about the evils of money in politics and how lobbyists spend their money and write the legislation and it needs to be stopped.
Now all of a sudden they’re fully in support of that.

He stated in the NYT article that he wanted to stop people from purchasing “military style” weapons. Here we go again. Banning ugly guns because of their accessories rather than what they shoot. Silly beyond belief.
Besides what to do about the millions of now-legal “military style” weapons in private hands? Does this fool think that people will just hand them in?
You will recall that during the so-called ban on “assault weapons”, that expired, a rifle qualified for the ban when it had three or more of the following items:
- A pistol grip that protruded prominently below the stock;
- A threaded barrel;
- A flash suppressor;
- A removable magazine;
- A bayonet mount;
- A grenade launcher;
So, since this firearm does not have “three or more” of those, it is NOT and “assault weapon”::

But I doubt that this RINO would give any ugly gun a pass. He only approves of nice deer rifles with walnut stocks, as if that is a meaningful distinction.
If he can’t buy a Republican, he always has other choices
Adam Schiff maybe
Help Adam buy assault weapons that kill Ukrainians

50 years ago the left was crazy to take away handguns so they will never be satisfied. They are all would be tyrants.
AMF! Don’t let the door knob catch your butt crack on the way out!
He supports Jeb Bush and McCain?
Go to hell, Hoffman, you fool.
Great news. :)
Here in CA it’s three specific “evil features.” Collapsable stock, Pistol Grip, and a Flash Hider. Any rifle now possessing these “evil features,” has to be registered and cannot be sold or passed on to anyone inside the State.
So since my AR came into my possession before ALL rifle purchases had go through the same BS as pistols, I put a Thordsen stock on it (taking care of EF’s 1&2, and a Lantac Dragon muzzle brake, taking care of #3. With an aftermarket drop in trigger and a red dot, this damned thing is a pleasure to shoot, and I can put 9 out of ten in the ten ring at 50ft., off hand. The other benefit of these mods is that I was also lawfully able to get rid of the nonsensical “bullet button” mag release. I know it’s all BS, but at least now I have a rifle that is “ordinary!”
He’s a Cheap Labor Express guy, no loss. In fact, might be a gain.
