How is it possible for the host of network TV show to be so confused about such a basic legal concept?
On her MSNBC show today, Joy Reid asked MSNBC legal expert Danny Cevallos whether the payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal were “bribes.”
Cevallos managed not to laugh, gently explaining to Reid that “one of the key elements in any bribery case is government involvement. Citizens, regular private folks, can generally bribe each other. It’s a different issue if they’re extorting or blackmailing. That’s illegal. But it’s official conduct, it’s anything of value for some official conduct in return. That’s the critical analysis in any bribery case.”

Her first MSNBC show, “The Reid Report,” did get canceled. But for some time now she’s had a weekend-morning show, “AM Joy.”
Apparently, she’s quite popular on the left, and there’s talk she might be given a prime-time show.
Well, he’s probably a lawyer. Can’t expect the average person to understand the difference between a bribe, a kick back, and hush money can we now? And why DO they INSIST on continuing to call it blackmail?

If an agreement and payment is made through a lawyer it is a “settlement” not a bribe LOL.

a better question would have been, doesn’t this prove that Trump is right, that certain women will throw themselves at a rich guy and when rejected almost always demand monetary compensation for their sluttiness? In the real world we call them fatal attractions.
