A White House official said Wednesday Congress needs to limit "chain migration" as part of a deal to grant citizenship to young people living in the country illegally because not doing so could trigger the largest immigrant wave “in the history of the world.”
The official, speaking on background with reporters, said if young people currently eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program are allowed to sponsor more than spouses and children, you can take “whatever number they give you, and multiply it by three or four.”
“Each two immigrants averages seven sponsorships. A legalization of 2 million would be a net legalization of something like 9 million total, so two would become nine,” he said. “Which would mean that instead of issuing say roughly 10 million green cards over a decade, you end up issuing something like 20 million, which would be the largest increase in immigration not only in the history of our country but probably in the history of the world.”

I heard this deal doesn’t stop chain migration for years and millions are going to come in to the U.S. before the deal goes into effect.

When I was a kid in the 1960’s you could travel anywhere in this country and everybody still spoke English.
There were not no-go zones for Americans in America.
We MUST slow down legal immigration and we MUST stop illegal aliens from inviting themselves to the bounty of America or there will be no bounty.
It is amnesty and an open border. Hope it fails and all are deported.

Deport all of the illegals. Quit catering to them. No DACA, no anchor babies, no excuses.

When has trying to stop immigration from mexico worked? They have no interest in what our laws say......and far too many guarding the border can be bought. Demorats will make certain of that... Dems aren’t pushing for illegals to vote for nothing!
Enforcement is key.....start fining and arresting border security who let them in and we might have a chance.
If the deal “doesn’t take effect” for X years it will never take effect. Dims and RINOs will see that in short order. Remember Kennedy and prior amnesty.
