Report recommends banning fax, email balloting to improve cybersecurity
DENVER After years of accusing states of voter suppression, the Center for American Progress wants to make it tougher for overseas military to vote in the name of election security.
The left-wing public-policy group issued Monday a report, Election Security in All 50 States, that called for stricter standards to prevent cyber-meddling in elections by foreign governments, including banning military stationed abroad from submitting ballots via email or fax.
One state that allows such vote-casting is Colorado. The center called on the state to prohibit voters stationed or living overseas from returning voted ballots electronically.
Regardless of the states secure ballot return system for electronically voted ballots, we recommend that all voted ballots be returned by mail or delivered in person, said the 245-page report.
Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams defended the practice, saying the state has incorporated safeguards to protect the integrity of ballots cast by military personnel living overseas.

No they aren’t. 65% of the time if you’re lucky. The problem isn’t so much with military personnel stationed at well established overseas bases, the problem comes when it’s Marines and sailors aboard ships, or soldiers and Marines on FOB’s. Mail delivery sucks to put it mildly when it comes to delivery to and from ships or FOB’s. I’m speaking from experience on this, my experience and that of two of my sons. Email or fax ballots are the only way to ensure they are received on time.
All expenses to paid for by corresponding reductions in IRS, FBI, EPA, HUD, & DOP (Dept of Education Propaganda)...Once the current funds for the EPA, HUD, & DOP reach zero, close and nail shut their doors.
In 2000 the democrats in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties tried to prevent the military vote being counted in those counties.
They of course failed.

There are libtards in Minnestoopid who believe that anyone with any military background should be prohibited from any participation in the political process, including voting. This crap was going around when Colleen Riley(D) was challenging John Kline (R) for the MN-2 seat.
That is a laugh! My youngest son’s ballot made it to his base in Iraq 45 days after the election. If he had been allowed to vote by email or fax, his vote would have counted. As it was, a soldier fighting in a combat zone was not given the opportunity to have a say in the leaders of his country.
Absentee ballots need to be done away with, except in the case of military stationed out of the area and those with a proven reason for not being in town on Election Day. Saw too many Democratic election aides bringing in 10 or so absentee ballots marked with just an “X” to believe there isn’t a ton of fraud going on with those.
This is not new.
Many Democrats running for pres have tried to not allow as many military voters active, retired or formally to have served to not vote. Folks who have defended their country
Too many conservatives or Republican voters.
Course the dems try their best to allow former criminal felons to vote as they usually vote dem.
Lot of folks deserve being dragged behind pick em up trucks.
Liberals are such jerks.
