Artificial intelligence could be "billions of times smarter" than humans and people may need to merge with computers to survive, a futurist told CNBC on Tuesday.
Speaking on a panel hosted by CNBC at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Futurizon's Ian Pearson's comments mirrored ideas put forward by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Welcome to the maiden voyage of the first totally computerized Airliner.
The weather is good, we have a tailwind and should be in New York in about 5 hours.
All systems are green, and nothing can go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong, go wrong...

I'm still waiting for our family's autonomous airplane!

“Transhumanists want you to die.”
That is not the case. Transhumanists just want to transcend current human limitations, with most wanting to venture off-planet.
Transhumanists generally have libertarian and individualist views. Most are very much opposed to “group consciousness” etc.
How soon will “transhumanism” be possible, if ever? That’s the big question for sure.
Youre not a big fan of Musk and his thoughts on the future?
Its that the guy seems to be putting words in the mouth of Musk. Reminds me of misatributions to Mark Twain or Thoms Jefferson. He isnt making his own case, and I am not confident Musk would agree with his assessment.
