You are incorrect. The requirement is to be born a citizen, not to be born within the boarders (14th amendment citizenship) of the US.
The 14th Amendment has nothing to do with being a natural born citizen.
Nor does it mention anchor babies.
“Subject to the jurisdiction thereof” has a meaning, according to the authors of the 14th Amendment.
That we ignore it or abuse it, is not the fault of those writers.
The requirement is to be a natural born citizen.
Naturally, those born with multiple citizenships, nationalities, allegiance and loyalties are not naturally Americans.
Only those born here of citizen parents are naturally Americans as they could be no other.
There were Citizens and Natural Born Citizens well before there was anything such as a naturalized citizen. Congress did not ‘Naturalize’ before there was a Constitution.
See Article 1 Section 2 ....No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, .....
.....at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
And NO, Cruz is not now, never was, and never can be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States.
