Two leading Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee released a redacted top secret email Monday that Obama administration National Security Advisor Susan Rice appears to have sent herself just minutes after President Donald Trump took office.
The email contains Rices impressions from a January 5, 2017 meeting on Russian hacking during the 2016 presidential election between then-President Barack Obama, then-FBI Director James Comey, and intelligence community leadership.
According to Rice, President Obama and Comey had a follow-on conversation after the formal meeting during which Obama told Comey that from a national security perspective he wanted to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia. President Obama then asked Comey to inform him of any changes that would affect how his White House should share classified information with the incoming Trump administration.

Interesting.
If this was a CYA, what was her fear?
In this case she sent a Top Secret email to her government account on the way out the door. It is not like she was sending herself a to do list or some sort of personal information like benefits information. This appears to be a CYA memo.
Great tagger: “Never pick a fight with an angry beehive of 64+ million Trump Deplorables. You will lose!
Heh.......she’ll never tell.
But we’ll find out.
As long as Jeff Sessions remains asleep in his chair the conspirators can continue to rest easy.
Heck yeah!!! Admiral Rogers, Patriot extrordinair!!!
Oh, someone found AG Sessions? (sarc) I truly thought he was MIA!
“I didn’t hear about any of it”
The thing about the cop is something I heard a couple months ago or more. Nothing recently.
SEN. MARTIN HEINRICH: Mr. Comey, prior to January 27th of this year, have you ever had a one-on-one meeting or a private dinner with a president of the United States?
COMEY: No. Dinner, no. I had two one-on-ones with President Obama. One to talk about law enforcement issues, law enforcement and race, which was an important topic throughout for me and for the president. Then once very briefly for him to say goodbye.
HEINRICH: Were those brief interactions?
COMEY: No. The one about law enforcement and race and policing, we spoke for probably over an hour, just the two of us.
“Comey said he always makes notes after speaking to the president, its time to ask for his notes.”
We have to be sure he has enough lead time to create the notes. “Yeah... That’s the ticket... I wrote these notes back in January... yeah...
“Why would she still thinking about that meeting 15 days after it occurred and she was going out the door?”
And why would she do it 15 MINUTES after she was no longer employed by the White House? I wonder if there’s any legal significance to that.
These people had been there for 8 years. This was not these people’s first rodeo. It wasn’t their first meeting, but their last.
Why was it necessary for the POTUS to even think of mentioning of doing it “by the book” ?
It does raise the question about what other times and circumstances were things done “not by the book” ?
Rice is a demonstrated and well known LIAR! Believe her at your own risk.
Not so much as trying to be “fair and balanced”.
To prosecute the case, one has to be diligent, with an open mind as to what reasonable (non-criminal) people might do and then close the door on the (criminal) defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. If I were gambling, I would bet if there were other emails to herself, she did not write them 15 days after the fact as a normal course of operating. And writing it on the way out the door... it doesn’t look good... she was “manufacturing evidence”.
Hopefully, some investigator already questioned others who were in that meeting, or other documents / emails of this meeting were discovered that before this story was released. Not fatal to the case if they were not, but would be preferable.
The other guy I would like to see questioned under oath and in public is Senator Warner for his “no paper trail” attempt at influencing a potential witness (Steele). He is no “by golly hick” Senator. He needs to be removed from the committee if he does not step down.
As will the reporter who blew the whistle on the Phoenix airport meeting
“Susan Rice: I Leaked Nothing To Nobody About Intelligence”
Interesting that a highly trained lawyer would use this phrase. Isn’t it a form of a double negative?
LOL, he asked only because he didn’t wish to wear out his new watch by over using it...(right?) Sob, Colombo is no more, gone the way of Sherlock Holmes jumping into the journalistic pool of the largest newspaper in Gotham.
This is a good point.
I will often send myself emails to remind myself to do something or to remind me of something that was said. I don’t think this is unusual.
The unusual part is doing this 2 weeks later during the inauguration on your way out. You don’t send a note to remind you what happened in a meeting that was 2 weeks earlier-it would have been sent that same day or the next. She was documenting it (making it up) on purpose to cover her a$$!
