Two leading Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee released a redacted top secret email Monday that Obama administration National Security Advisor Susan Rice appears to have sent herself just minutes after President Donald Trump took office.
The email contains Rice’s impressions from a January 5, 2017 meeting on “Russian hacking during the 2016 presidential election” between then-President Barack Obama, then-FBI Director James Comey, and “intelligence community leadership.”
According to Rice, President Obama and Comey had a “follow-on conversation” after the formal meeting during which Obama told Comey that “from a national security perspective” he wanted “to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.” President Obama then asked Comey to inform him of any changes that would affect how his White House should share classified information with the incoming Trump administration.

None of this will be in the evening news, since it shows that bammy’s administration was a bunch of America-hating racists.
Wasn’t the Obamadmin making all sorts of interagency rule changes in the days between the 2016 election day and Jan 20, 2017?

Without reading the entire email, I can only speculate. It was a CYA for the group and especially for Rice and BHO. The “do it by the book” was window dressing, to make it look like BHO wanted to make sure he was on record of following the law. The “if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia” is there to support the (conspiracy) investigation that Trump was colluding with Russia to fix the elections and why BHO did all the things he did to “save America”.
It would be interesting to search Rice’s emails to see how many times in her tenure that she posted emails to herself and the contents of those emails. A very different light shall be cast if this was the only one.

Yeah, I have never appreciated Grassley nearly as much as this year.
He’s still a waffler on illegal immigration and amnesty, like the vast majority of GOP senators, but somehow he’s been at least outwardly great of late on the Dems’ crimes.
Since I started getting email regularly 20 years ago, I have never sent myself an email covering a meeting 15 days old. One would have difficulty remembering anything clearly over that time span if you didn’t have notes, and you had a lot of meetings as Rice surely did and I have had.

Not true, the FBI is not an independent agency. The president has a constitutional right to know every step of an investigation, to order an investigation started or stopped.

Well the “constitutional law professor” may have said that, but the Constitution clearly places the president solidly in charge. The FBI has no Independence.
