House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is planning to investigate whether one-time CIA Director John Brennan played a role in promoting the controversial and unverified dossier on Donald Trump, RealClear Investigations is reporting.
Word of the congressman's new probe comes after the release of a Nunes' memo alleging surveillance abuses by the FBI.
Brennan, in an interview on NBC News' "Meet The Press," lashed out at Nunes, saying he "abused the office of chairmanship" with the memo.
According to RealClear Investigations, Nunes will soon release a separate report detailing the role of the State Department under President Barack Obama in creating and disseminating the controversial dossier.
The website claimed the report will identify diplomats who worked with those close to Hillary Clinton to help ex-British spy Christopher Steele put together the disputed dossier.
"Those are the first two phases" of Nunes' multipart inquiry, a senior investigator said. "In Phase 3, the involvement of the intelligence community will come into sharper focus."
The unidentified aide said Nunes will focus on Brennan, former CIA Director Leon Panetta, Obama's intelligence chief, James Clapper and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, among other intelligence officials.
"John Brennan did more than anyone to promulgate the dirty dossier," the investigator said. "He politicized and effectively weaponized what was false intelligence against Trump."

Swamp draining in action.
That is an excellent question that I’ve been wondering about too. Trump’s failure to take action on the DOJ’s corrupt and feckless leadership is worrisome. I’d like to see Rudy Giuliani or even Chris Christie replace Jeff Sessions and really clean house. It needs to happen soon or it wii be too late.
I noticed that too. Nothing Nunes ‘exposes’ seems to gain any traction in the media. Perhaps this is due to a (near comatose) Atty. Gen. Until Nunes can resolve that issue, he need not keep starting more ‘probes and investigations’.
I know very little about Nunes. Who is he accountable to?
Which GOP are his enemy?

It also shows, as we know, that no one on the Left thought Clinton would lose, so their actions leading up to the election were illegal with the assumption they would be the ones in power. So who cares? Who would stop them?
Then something “unexpected” happens. Unexpected being the MSMs favorite word for real-world events impinging on their hermetically sealed bubble. Trump won. Then the Obama admin went into full panic mode realizing their actions would be exposed, so they doubled-down on their illegal actions in a go-for-broke attempted destruction of Trump.
And here we are. With their game in the process of being exposed, the MSM in a last-ditch effort huffs about the Republicans besmirching the sacred FBI.
Is the CIA now going to go after Nunes?
And if they do will he cut them off at the knees?

Panetta wasn’t even working for the government at the time. How did he get messed up in this? Did he keep his security clearance current?

What do you expect?
Brennan and Clapper should not be called to testify before a committee. They both will always lie. They have done it so much that even the article you link about perjury is inconsequential. In a legal trial you might tie them up, but with the leftist media and their relentless affection for lying they are not worth questioning in a committee — they have no shame.
Everything Nunes finds goes directly to Sessions’ lap where it is promptly swept under the swamp. The indictments must come from DOJ. Sessions, by lack of action, strangles all of these investigations in their crib.
Instead, both should be brought before a federal grand jury.

Ryan is backing Nunes. Without Ryan's support, Nunes doesn't get past his orchard in Fresno. Ok, next question: Why is Ryan - of all people - backing Nunes?
Glad you asked; the answer is Trump. Whatever Trump has promised or threatened, Ryan is fully on board. So, using the associative rule, we can remove Ryan to deduce that Nunes = Trump.
Since Nunes is actually Trump, then why would Nunes have anything to fear from Brennan, et al, when he has the full backing of the DoD to clean the swamp? Hastings was an early pioneer/scout; as such, he literally ended up with arrows in his back.
But Trump is the cavalry. These things take time - don't ever forget the entire purpose of the 2018 long reveal are the congressional elections. Trust Trump. My doG, he's done this much so far - how did he do it? Dumb luck?
Brennan is such a hack.
