With demand for its redesigned full-size SUVs surging, Ford Motor is expanding production of the Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.
The automaker will be increasing production of the two SUVs by approximately 25 percent. Both models are manufactured at Ford's truck plant in Louisville, Kentucky.

How many people drive their SUV off-road? Farmers and ranchers mainly, I guess.
I had to special-order our Suburban because I didn’t want four wheel drive. It’s awful in snow. If there’s snow and we have to drive, we use the Camry.
The next time the Democrats come to power and control the EPA, they will ban such vehicles and they will require every owner of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine to have an expensive Federal permit

Too much trouble. They will just add a $10 gal Federal tax, and mandate the phasing out of refineries in 5 years.
Transforming an impoverishing is right - meanwhile whatever immigration laws enacted prior will be repealed and any border barriers removed to allow free and open access to all comers. In a cost saving measures they will get rid of ICE and the Coast Guard, as obsolete and not needed.
My 1997 Expedition is still running strong. Bought it used for $7k twelve years ago. It’s a surprisingly nimble mountain goat for the size. The turning circle is amazingly small and its fun to drive. U-turns are a breeze. I remember back in the day when the 4x4 turning circle penalty was 1.5x whatever the two-wheel drive version had. I guess they fixed that in the nineties.
It’s pushing 200k miles. Maybe I’ll buy the 2026 version if our Democratic overlords allow it.
“China also is a very inexpensive place to make cars. Ford estimates it will save $500 million a year by building in China rather than at the Mexican plant it had been looking at.”

A big rear drive truck being terrible in snow should not have been a surprise. Just sayin’.
If I saw your comment at the time, I agreed with you.
Im a Ford gal. Loved my Excursion and now I love my Expedition.
My new 2018 Navigator was delivered last Wednesday. Great vehicle!!
.
‘Bout time Ford woke up!
Who wants the rest of the crap manufacturers want to shove down our throats?
Trump needs to change CAFE standards from miles per gallon to Ton-miles per gallon, which is the only realistic measure of fuel economy.
Do it now!

Even more fun is a little 2WD Toyota Tacoma pickup. Had one in the hills in NJ. Had a lot of fun in the winter, bouncing off curbs and berms to get around.
.
So you special ordered a useless vehicle, and now you’re complaining?
What is a Camry good for? It can’t carry much of anything!
Snowflakes shouldn’t drive.
I loved my ‘04 Eddie Bauer Expedition. The power folding 3rd row seating was great and the tight turning radius was the best. Before buying it we tested th e Tahoe and nearly cut a finger off on the show room trying to let down the 3rd row seats and the salesman told to take them out and leave them out, to which I responded so I can move them around the garage because they’ll always be in my way! Then we test drove an Armada on a snowy/icy road. The auto sensing anti-slip system made a grinding noise every time.
And hunters and hikers and campers, for starters.
I think the Expedition is one of the ugliest cars of the last 30 years.
“What is a Camry good for? It can’t carry much of anything”
I’ll accept that. However, 96.42 percent of driving is not carrying much of anything, and doing it “on-road”.
I love my Lincoln Navigator.
Ford family here. Shelby GT500 and Lincoln MKX.
I loved my 99 Expedition and still love my 2010 Explorer Eddie Bauer. I don’t like how they turned the Explorer into a crossover, though.
I’ll stick with my old Highlander. These other beasts just dwarf it, but it’s very comfortable and reliable.
A cross-over is the equivalent of a moderate - can’t make up their mind.
My daughter used to have a Mercury Mountaineer. She called it The Beast. She now has a Toyota Highlander - blah.
