Journalists pushed back against President Trump's tweet Saturday saying people's lives are being destroyed by "a mere allegation," a comment that sparked backlash on social media.
Trump decried how people's "lives are being shattered and destroyed be a mere allegation" after two White House aides abruptly resigned this week following claims of past domestic abuse.
While Trump did not mention any specific allegations, he wrote: "Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?"

“Other journalists were quick to point out the connection between Trump’s comments on Porter and his stance on the case of the Central Park Five, five black men who were exonerated after being falsely accused of raping and beating a woman in Central Park in 1989.”
The President is correct and the media is culpable.
There is NO media anymore..just a bunch of Commie liberals who only love America when liberals control it
Maybe the sheeple will now learn about due process. Our system of education has failed us. Trump’s tweet starts another national discussion.
Correct about what?
Can we stick to the subject here? Should the president be defending Rob Porter? Not sure who the other guy is. It’s a given the vast majority of the media hates Trump. Should Trump have stayed out of the fray? Does it benefit him to jump in?
Unless, of course, you have Kevlar for skin and brass cojones, like Donald Trump. His Kevlar gets thicker by the day as he endures serial false accusations.
I'll bet he gets around to that as this little episode plays out.
Where does Carter Page get his life and reputation back?
Some previous comments regarding this case:
Central Park Five
It always benefits him to jump in, especially when he is non-specific. They can make of it whatever meaning they want; then he will tell them to get their minds out of the gutter. He might say, “Maybe I was talking about (D) Senator Carper, who beat up TWO wives and has yet to answer for it.
How many MSM traitos would like to go to prison with their RAT idols?
I think President Trump is conflicted..Porter did a great job while working at the White House, and President Trump is reacting to that..but then you have this supposed other side of Porter which may be dark..so you have two sides of the same person..President Trump was NOT tweeting about Porter specifically, but about ALL people who are accused of things that may or may NOT be true
Any woman can now say anything about any man and that man’s career, reputation, and family immediately implodes. The delicious irony though is that this hurts the feminists rather than advancing their goals.
propagandists
seditious tools
presstitutes
craven accomplices
the rule is to now automatically believe anything that a bitter ex-wife or ex-girlfriend has to say, even if there is no actual proof that the allegations are true. If you doubt or don’t believe the woman, you are automatically the villain.
Other journalists were quick to point out the connection between Trumps comments on Porter and his stance on the case of the Central Park Five, five black men who were exonerated after being falsely accused of raping and beating a woman in Central Park in 1989.

So these pukes have to go back to the 1980’s to rebut something Trump says? How vile and desperate ARE they?
More and more I think we need a state run media. Yes . . . I know . . . that would be a bad thing once the RATS get back in power, but what would be the difference from the way they’re acting NOW?
“Correct about what?”
At this point in time they are allegations.
You’re a man, you’re a boss, you’re hiring. You would be a damned fool these days to hire a woman.
I, perhaps foolishly, tangled with a bunch of this stuff yesterday on Facebook.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And once that happens, if the woman told us the sun had just risen in the east and presented a picture of it, we would be wise to check it all out ourselves.
One would-be rebutter averred that the man couldn’t possibly be a playboy, he’s a Mormon. Um... that seems like trying to have it two ways on attributing traditional values.
And supposing these fellows are as bad as accused, the GOP still has a long way to go to catch up with the Democrats here.
