Following the second best-ever year for gun sales, when some 25 million were traded, January started fast too.

The FBI recorded 2,030,530 background checks in January, just off the 2,043,284 in January 2016.

“Historically, January is sluggish, but we were up over 10 percent from last January, so our outlook for the year is bright,” said our go-to expert Justin Anderson, director of marketing for Hyatt Guns in Charlotte, N.C., one of the nation’s biggest.

“While sales nosedived last February as the result of the presidential election, we don’t expect the same drop off this year. We are continuing to see new customers buying guns and we expect more new shooters to become customers this year,” he added

>>>So why is Remington on the verge of going TU?

Loaded up with too much debt by private equity sponsor Cerberus. They recently added a new plant in Alabama (with the benefit of 40 million from the state), probably on the expectations of record sales year after year. While last year was the second best for gun sales, it was still down 20% from 2016.

"A sign of renewed anxiety amongst the people?"

I do think this is part of it. Not anything to do with our President but rather the discovery and proof positive of just how corrupt the federal government has become.

We have proof the federal government conspired to install a totally corrupt and evil person as President against the will of the people. The current actions of the DOJ, FBI and almost the entire federal government prove they think they should be in charge of choosing who will lead this country. Yes we have a big problem, a really big problem. History is full of examples of what happens next.

Thank god for President Trump.

It’s indicative of a society that understands how long it takes for police to respond to a call.

I hope so.

The alternative is that it's an indication of a society realizing just how dangerous a government weaponized against it's own citizens really is.

What did they do to Marlin? Green eye shade pocket protector pencil necks running things instead of gun people.

“It’s indicative of a society that understands how long it takes for police to respond to a call.”

And then half the time you regret it if they do respond.
