WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday blocked the release of a classified memo written by House of Representatives Democrats that rebutted a Republican document made public last week which alleged anti-Trump bias in the FBI’s Russia probe.

There were reports earlier this week that they did exactly that, hoping the White House would redact stuff before an OK to release. Then the Dems could claim that Trump is hiding incriminating information and therefore GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY!! Trump did the right thing sending it back to them to redact and rewrite it themselves and limit it to unclassified information.
By the way, as someone who has worked on and run many projects at the highest classification levels, I can't believe that we even entrust these proven Dem liars with any classified information.
The classifed Pentagon Papers were entered into the record by Sen. Gravel in 1971. In response, the DOJ impaneled a grand jury to investigate and issued a subpoena for an aide to the Senator. In a 5-4 opinion the Supreme Court dismissed the subpoena finding that the Speech and Debate clause of the constitution protected the Senator from criminal or civil liability and from questioning elsewhere than in the Senate, with respect to the events occurring at the subcommittee hearing at which the Pentagon Papers were published. The entire review process that we are currently discussing was instituted by law in response to the Gavel episode.

The Democrats had nothing of substance to rebut the content of the Nunes Memo. For this reason, Schiff and Company may have loaded the memo with lots of classified material, knowing the President would not be able to release it as written. This benefits the Democrats strategy. By delaying release, the Democrats can say the President is stonewalling. Once the memo is released in the redacted version, the Democrats will say the content has been altered to water down what the Democrats claim is true. It is a win win for Schiff.
