CNN Jumps to Conclusions After Trump Wishes Rob Porter Well
Townhall.com ^ | February 9, 2018 | Cortney O'Brien

Posted on 02/09/2018 2:23:10 PM PST by Kaslin

President Trump offered his well wishes to his now former staff secretary Rob Porter following his resignation in the wake of domestic violence allegations from his two ex-wives. Trump commended his "hard work" while he served in the White House and said he hopes he was a wonderful career ahead of him.

He also reminded the press that Porter has said he's innocent.

Aware of the president's remarks, CNN jumped to the following conclusion during its breaking news report.

quite the CNN chyron right now pic.twitter.com/08pG0D4wpJ— Oliver Darcy (@oliverdarcy) February 9, 2018

It's unclear whether it was mentioned in this Wolf Blitzer segment that the White House has expressed its shock over the "serious" and "disturbing" Porter allegations. It's unclear what exactly White House Chief of Staff John Kelly knew in terms of the severity of the allegations, but he did note "there is no place for domestic violence in our society."

CNN loves throwing shade at the Trump administration with its editorialized chyrons. In the past year, the network has shared its biased opinions on everything from Russian collusion, to how many scoops of ice cream the president eats.

"Trump: I Don’t Support WikiLeaks (He Loved it in 2016)," one of the chyrons read. Last month, when White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway insisted that no one in the administration is obsessing over Hillary Clinton, CNN shot back with the following subtitle.

The network's anti-Trump, pro-Hillary agenda led to a public scolding by Conway live on air last year.

"I love CNN but you've got to be honest here," she told Jake Tapper. "The lower thirds, what's always on the chyron, the panelists, the so-called experts constantly saying, 'She can't lose. The race is over.'"

Didn’t seem to be a very big deal before this guy started work in the White House.

Now all of a sudden three women have found their voice.

Until then, they didn’t seem to think it was a big enough deal to speak out about.

Now I’m wondering why not.

The American principle of presumption of innocence is stunning to fake news CNN.

Liberals grant it to terrorists, murderers and illegal aliens. But not to Rob Porter.

That says it all.

What couples do in their homes is frankly not our business......be it who they’re sleeping with or what happens between them with others. These are only used for political wars which have no baring on the issues of the day.

Government has no business in the bedrooms.....period. And people have no business dragging society into their sordid affairs in order to make headlines.

Porter may be a thoroughly bad guy, but after what the country was put through with respect to the Bubba Clinton sexual assault and abuse issues and the Hildabeast’s enabling of the same, with the Dems and the NOW gang defending them both to the hilt, NONE of the people who defended the Clintons have any standing whatsoever to offer criticism of Porter or the Trump administration in employing him.

That said, Hope Hicks and other women with sense should stay far away from this guy.

If his girlfriend Hicks forgave him, I don’t see how his current relationship with her is any of our business.

That would be true only if he was charged with a crime.

And allegations of domestic abuse with his ex wives don’t even rise to a felony offense.

So there.

I am sorry, but what you said is stupid. Has this Porter guy been convicted of wife abuse? Please post a link so we can see where he was convicted.

If there is no link, then Trump was right to not make a judgment.

... Defending a wife abuser is political suicide. ...

***********

Trump said merely that he maintains his innocence and that he wishes him well. Are we so far down the road of PC that he cannot even say that there is more than one side to a story like this? Maybe we have — ask George Zimmerman.

Yup. Not controversial.

But if you hate Trump and are biased against him, anything he does is outside the norm.

Like defending people who worked for him.

No, Trump didn’t err. As a wife, mother I would be furious if some woman accused my son or husband of physical abuse and didn’t have PROOF it had occured.

Anybody can say anything they want about anyone and until there is PROOOF it is TRUE, nothing is true, it is all allegation.

Too many women have climed on the bandwagon of female abuse accusations against probably guilty men and surely guilty men and NOT guilty men. Unless there is some way to know and tie photographs of bruising to the time of the abuse (e.g. police reports), then you cannot rightfully accuse any man or woman of abuse.

It is a great shame we have allegations as “proof” in our media. If I was a man, I wouldn’t date another woman unless it was in a group and I WOULD NEVER BE ALONE WITH HER. Never.

You’re right! America doesn’t care about who accused who of what in some private, personal matter involving someone who worked in the Administration.

There were accusations of domestic violence by someone else against someone else, and that has nothing to do with the President. The President politely gave the right answer on the matter for those persistent folks with lower brain weights, and he shouldn’t be bothered with it any more.

In regards to the Executive branch of our government, America cares about jobs, the economy, defense, cutting spending on useless, anti-family social programs...: grownup considerations.

If we wanted to discuss feminism, we’d talk about whores.

Am I allowed to make a vanity post on this subject? I am so pissed that everyone is acting like Porter was tried and convicted of domestic abuse! In fact, the most “legal” paper was the PPO by the 2nd wife.

I am so tired of this bull shit!! This is all “he said, she said”. Statute of limitations has expired, but hell, we don’t need no steeenking convictions! Let’s just keep calling him guilty.

When is someone gonna man up, grab his crotch and tell the MSM to fek off? Prove it!! Trump and his folks have got to start pusing back.
