I'm very, very uncomfortable with guilty until proven innocent, and have been since it began. It's the Republican powers-that-be that caused it to spiral out of control. Roy Moore wasn't guilty of anything. What happened is the puppetmasters in the party would rather sacrifice that US Senate seat than to have another US Senator who wasn't bought and paid for.
There are questions about this new situation that need answering. Why the heck isn't everyone who works in the WH already vetted? It should've been a priority. Is Hope Hicks fully vetted? Was she writing positive press releases while knowing there were allegations that needed to be answered? Are Ivanka and Jared fully vetted? Is there anyone else with lots of access to WH inside information that hasn't been vetted? I'm actually amazed that with all the problems with leaks that there are still people on the staff who haven't been fully vetted.
PRECISELY.
If you can be charmed to death by someone strictly on the basis of his charming personality, who also happens to superbly perform his job, exquisitely please his superiors, but hides a well known dark side at minimum, or an mental/emotional disorder at maximum, why couldn’t you be charmed by a likewise American spy, from Iran, China, Russia, Syria, Germany, etc.?
We choose to overlook what we want to overlook. Not sure you have that liberty and can do that, not when your entire country is in your hands.
The good general was way too lenient. The guy had problems, they knew it, and he was never given a security clearance because of it.
THERE WAS BASICALLY NO VETTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE. Worse, possibly, there still isn’t.
