WASHINGTON (AP) The head of the Environmental Protection Agency is again understating the threat posed by climate change, this time by suggesting that global warming may be a good thing for humanity.
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has championed the continued burning of fossil fuels while expressing doubt about the consensus of climate scientists that man-made carbon emissions are overwhelmingly the cause of record temperature increases observed around the world.
In an interview with KSNV-TV in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Pruitt made several statements that are undercut by the work of climate scientists, including those at his own agency.
The Associated Press shared a transcript of Pruitts remarks with top U.S. scientists, and a dozen of them faulted his understanding of science.
Asked for references to any climate data or scientific studies Pruitt was relying on, EPA spokesman Jahan Wilcox instead provided a link to a recent Fox News report questioning the accuracy of a statement made by former Vice President Al Gore in 2006.

Experts in computer modeling, not climate science.
..... My guess is ... that, .... Looking at the real scientific evidence, ...... five years from now .... The Cult Family of the Globull Warming Religion will actually be praying for warming .... ....
The climatic norm of the earth is glaciation for millions of years followed by a brief interlude of warming for 20 to 30 thusand years. This is followed by a new glacial epoch. Today we live in abnormal times of warmth and life flourishes on Earth. It does not flourish as great as in the past when we had CO2 levels far greater than today.
If history is to be repeated the polar caps will melt and the seas will rise. Life will flourish on earth. There will not be mass inundations by floods over our cities on the coasts. The rise in sea level will be very slow. We will slowly retreat from the sea over thousands of years and those great buildings of our sea coasts would have been gone due to age of thousands of years.
However, we may not be at the end of a glacial epoch. This may just be a brief warming period in a glacial epoch and glaciation may return rather quickly in geologic terms. This has happended in the past.
Pray for global warming as life is harsh on earth during an ice age.
