He is one of the least liked personalities in the industry. Sam Kinneson was liked more, and Sam loved to be hated. I had to just “Say it!”
Hmm, didn’t know that. The only movie I liked Carey in was The Mask and also the opening scene to Pet Detective when he was kicking that UPS parcel down the street. That’s it.
PS: OTT he’s a total jerk.
Sam was not a mean guy. I met him one night at a Houston comedy club. My buddy and I were sitting on the front row. My buddies dad had become confused as far as if he liked gals or guys. Sam made the mistake of telling my friend he look kind of gay. Suddenly my buddy and Sam are rolling around on the floor having the funniest drunken fight Ive ever seen. At some point Sam starts laughing and my buddy starts laughing and Sam starts yelling pu$$ies, we are both pu$$ies!. He jumped back in stage, we drank more afterwards with Sam.
One of the funniest things I ever saw was when one night Sam pissed off the club owner and got thrown out of the place. Sam went across the street to a 7-11, climbed up its sign and crucified himself yelling stuff like look what they did to me. The cops showed up and the club owner let Sam back in to the club. This was all before he was famous.
When I was in my teens and 20s I kept running in to famous people at random. I used to hang out with Chris Cross before he became famous and Gino Vanelli who was and is an incredible talent. Another really nice comedian I met was Buddy Hackett, he was a very sweet man. I met Phyllis Diller once when I was very young, she was actually a beautiful woman at that time. Met Ann Margaret in the 70s and she was stunning. I chatted with Bob Hope and once sat next to Barbara Jordan on a plane. She was captivating. I got drunk once in the Rainbow Room with Estelle Gettleman AKA Estelle Getty who was on Golden Girls. She was the funniest and most foul mouthed woman Ive ever met. Jay Leno is funnier in person. Hank Williams Jr. Is broody. Maybe I should start a thread famous people I have met. Lol.
