Treason or 50-50 split in fundamental principles?
If the latter, then you have the foundation for cultural civil war if not something more active.
I don’t see how the two sides reconcile, divisions have become too large. But our side should assert control. In all western nations, same dynamic in play.
We had a court case probing these paradigms in Canada. It was ruled defamation to assert treason. I took that to mean that we had reached an “us or them” point after which two sides have to fight for supremacy. Giving in to “obey the law” is just a form of surrender. If the law is only applicable to one side in a confrontation like this, then it becomes part of the cultural civil war and decisions about responses must include all options.
AGREED!
OH, I’M SOOOOOOO GRATEFUL.
If Sessions drops the hammer, the left is going to need to enlarge Ft Marcy Park.
When we write or revise statutes, we do so with knowledge of the law, its meaning, and intent. We codify into statutes providing for full coverage of the meaning and intent of the underlying law for law enforcement to have a clear cause to enforce the law and for prosecutors to have clear details for obtaining indictments and bringing charges.
We first note that the current scandal before us constitutes a Coup d'Etat or overthrow of the United States by entrapping and removing its President and his administration from office. A coup is an act of war. All of the below definitions share this aspect of violation, hence why they are grouped under one section. But what they don't share or what they further detail (in bold) is the reason for their segregated statements.
The Code for Treason and Sedition are:
TREASON
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies ...
SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them ...
Note also:
MISPRISION OF TREASON
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason ...
REBELLION OR INSURRECTION
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States ...
ADVOCATING OVERTHROW OF GOVERNMENT
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates ...
Whoever, with intent to cause ...
Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize ...
The first fact to acknowledge is the fact that FBI Agents must take an OATH https://www2.fbi.gov/publications/leb/2009/september2009/oath.htm. The same goes for DOJ personnel including US Attorneys, Deputies, Agents. Their OATH places them squarely in the context of OWING ALLEGIANCE TO THE UNITED STATES.
All persons so sworn in oath who engage or participate in a coup, even a soft coup, commit treason against the United States. They are held to a harsher sentence which could be death if not prison.
Other persons who are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and who engage or participate in a coup are guilty of sedition. The statute calls for a conspiracy of at least two for the crime of sedition to apply.
FBI or DOJ personnel who have taken an oath of allegiance and who have engaged or participated in a coup may be charged with both Treason and Sedition, as well as all lower statutes. The list of charges can be a great number.
Treason is such a high crime that even the knowledge of acts of treason is a form of treason (misprision) if not reported as soon as possible.
The red pill horror of the current scandal is that agents of the United States took the law into their own hands, convincing themselves foolishly that they were defending the United States while plotting and conspiring to overthrow its President. That is a true horror. As was said by many in our government who read the memo, they became sick when reading of this horror.
No doubt the deceptive or misguided thoughts of the traitors in 'defending' the United States were caused in part by an environment created by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The agents committing treason fell into a cult-like pattern of thinking causing them to forget the true meaning of their oaths or to distort it to the point that they lost or never had a firm grasp on the meaning.
As with all criminal rackets, such as Mafia or similar groups, the participants never think what they are doing is wrong. When arrested, they act surprised while expressing they did nothing wrong because that's the way business was always done (normalcy bias). They participated in a criminal business that seemed to them a normal business. But though many are unwitting participants. others are quite aware of the crimes undertaken, These are the ringleaders. As modern Al Capone figures, they set up 'buffers' and make schemes allowing for plausible deniability, all to evade justice. They are difficult to catch and convict.
IG Horowitz, and others are tasked with bringing the ringleaders to justice because the ringleaders are current and former high ranking officials. The fox is inside the hen house.
LOL I love that gif.
LOL. Hilarious hilarious pic! I have a million places to repost it. Thanks!
So while I see the relative importance of the oath by these Obama admin officials, I still disagree about the applicability. War means shooting at US forces, or in the case of the Rosenbergs, aiding the enemy. You say:
...who have engaged or participated in a coup may be charged with both Treason
It was not a coup. It was not even an attempted coup.
Trump is happy with Sessions as AG. If Gowdy was AG, the same FReepers always bashing Sessions would be bashing Gowdy - in fact they already do - they say he’s all talk.
I think while some FReepers are impatient to see some top ‘Rats behind bars, Trump is working on a strategy that will actually drain the swamp.
Trump is whittling away at the media’s credibility, he aims to dismantle the left’s propaganda machine and finally turn public perception against them - redefine who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
Rounding up ‘Rats and throwing them in jail (or hanging them as some FReepers want) would only cause blowback - the press will cry McCarthyism, paint the right as the witch hunters, and restore the left’s moral high ground and victim status. It would only serve to usher in another half century of leftist political domination.
Look, the rats deserve to be jailed or hung - I agree - but Trump’s strategy is the smarter play by far. To impliment it, he can’t have his cabinet members or top Republicans conducting purges and witch hunts on his behalf.
Whenever they get close, he orders them to stand down.
Patience grasshoppers, POTUS knows what he’s doing - let him do it his way.
When did they ever have the opportunity? The RATs have owned the place for over 50 years.
Like you, I view the damage done to this country by the Left beginning in the Wilson and Roosevelt administrations as being the foundation of many of our modern troubles, accelerated after WWII by their embrace of communist and Marxist fundamentals.
In my opinion, those were first hidden and subterranean during Joseph McCarthy’s martyrdom, then more open during Lyndon Johnson’s administration, through Vietnam, and then, finally and fully open with Clinton and Obama as the 60’s radicals moved into the upper echelons of power.
During the Clinton administration, they did a kabuki show to hide it, and during the Obama administrations, dispensed fully with any subterfuge.
During all these years, there was the occasional person on the Right like Joseph McCarthy who stood up to fight, but most of the time, the Right didn’t rock the boat and let things go along so they could get along, IMO. Nobody wanted to upset the gravy train.
The Left liked to tout Truman and people like Scoop Jackson as being staunch anti-communists, but both of those men showed that Party was much more important to them than Country between 1950 and 1953 when McCarthy was fighting communist infiltration into our government.
And even though we have had our issues with those on the right who embrace globalist policies and may have been willing to surrender portions of our national sovereignty to entities outside our country, I don’t believe there have been a lot of people on the right who have embraced such anti-American concepts, racism, and identity politics as those on the left have.
And, it isn’t even close.
But I do believe the Right should have stood up more often in the way Trump largely appears to be doing now.
wake me Mr president when THE NEW ARRESTS ARE BOMBSHELLS
Hillary and 0bama have been mighty quiet the past few weeks, unlike before when they were shooting their mouths off every other day.
The alphabet channels, save FBN, have been silent as well. Can’t understand it...
WHERE’S SESSIONS?
The media says these bombshells are “nothing burgers”, Comey says “that’s it”, and democrats mock Nunes and others. I think it’s time for Trump to seize the day:
- Launch FBI surveillance on Jake Tapper (James Rosen).
- Sick the IRS on LaRaza, SEIU, NAACP, and other groups (Lois Lerner).
- Jail Chris Matthews for bogus campaign contributions ( Denish Desousa).
- Surveillance on the entire NYT staff (AP).
- FBI, CIA, NSA surveillance on all possible Dem presidential candidates.
Hey! Don’t upset my stomach so early in the day!
After getting used to Melania as FLOTUS, seeing that picture is unbearable.
Can Obama be called before a congressional committee?
...CNNs already debunked this.
Right-wing media obsesses over FBI text message story; hours later it's debunked
CNN is fake news.
