Cheddar cheese is named for this area in Great Britain and a descendent (Adrian Targett) of Cheddar Man today lives about four miles from where Cheddar Man was found.(How would you like to be able to tell your friends, yup, my family has lived in the area for 10,000 years)
Some previous articles about Cheddar Man that I've posted:

Was probably a slave.
I wouldn’t put too much importance on the data about a population from one sample.
The Brits should sue the rest of the world for “reparations”.
Obviously there is some PC benefit to revealing this jaw-dropping news item. Did those evil Whites kill all the dark-skinned people and take all their arrowheads? Am I supposed to bump my White Guilt up a notch?
Wasn’t Cheddar Man the guy who shot himself in Eminem’s movie?
Part of my mixed family is from Britain.
While I think they were Saxon, I suspect they had some local flavor also.
No pirates in the mix so far.
WE WUZ KANGS!
Hi! I'm your long-lost distant cousin!
And we know he wasn’t just visiting Britain how?
Just keep that Grant Money flowing....cuz that’s what it’s really all about.

Somerset has a long coastal area. Light skin was a favorable mutation which made it more possible to form Vitamin D on the skin and absorb it. Vitamin D deficiency resulted in poor pelvic structure and difficulty with childbearing. One possible reason for gentlemen preferring blonds. Living along the coast the population could get plenty of Vitamin D from eating fish. Cod liver oil anyone? People living inland, especially in Europe may have mutated light skin early than populations living near the coasts.
My Scots ancestry husband had very bright light blue eyes, red hair, and sun sensitive skin. Given his build and extensive body hair, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had more than 4% Neanderthal genes. I would not be surprised if Neanderthals, many of whom lived far inland mutated light skin earlier than some other groups.
Skin color and morphological characteristics are "imaginary"?
3D scanning and 3D printing play pivotal role in facial reconstruction of the Cheddar Man
What about “Venezuelan Beaver Cheese Man”?
