JEFFERSON CITY Democrats made a dent in the GOP's super-majority in the Missouri House on Tuesday, swiping a Jefferson County-based district that had been held by a Republican.
Democrat Mike Revis snagged nearly 52 percent of the vote compared to Republican David Linton's 48 percent share, according to preliminary results from the Missouri Secretary of State.
According to the unofficial results, Republicans still took at least two out of four special election contests on Tuesday, winning decisively in two western Missouri districts.
In the 144th district, encompassing a patch of southeast Missouri, including Iron County and parts of Washington County, Democrat Jim Scaggs led Republican Chris Dinkins narrowly at 9:20 p.m. with 14 precincts left to report tallies.
The Democrats were elated by their flash of success, saying the victory in Jefferson County signaled more problems for the Republican brand going into the November elections.

For some reason, I can’t post the graphs from this link. I think you’re worrying LOCALLY and not watching NATIONALLY. Take a look at the graphs here and see what you think.
On top of that, President Trump’s approval rating is at 52%, which is HUGE! If he delivers another SOTU-like speech or two between now and fall of 2018, or if any of the ‘play-ahs’ in the Trump wiretapping are arrested, Dems might be demoralized and/or p*ssed off enough to stay home.

The Greitens tied-up-his-mistress business is having a negative effect on the repug party in Misery.
I really think that rank and file Republicans dont realize that EVERY RACE MATTERS. The Dems are slowly chipping away at that 1,000 seats flipped over the Obama years. I pray that Republicans become crawl though glass voters by the time the 2018 elections rolls around.
which ones are you trying to post. They work for me
If he/she is a straight-up unapologetic Nazi, then my dollars are on that that candidate is already on the federal payroll...
I am just pointing out that most people do not care enough about special elections to even find out when they are or if there is one as you can see by the low raw vote totals. Trying to equate the results of a special election with a few thousand voters to national elections 9 months away is as pointless as looking at entrails to divine the future in my view, but you can knock yourself out doing it if you want. By all means, panic!
So, the headline SHOULD read, “Democrats lose 3 of 4 MO special elections?”
The two that show the red v. blue states from the 1980’s until now, and the chart showing gains in the House & Senate by GOP.
It wouldn’t give me HTML to C & P over here. Could be my computer, too. ;)
Hear, hear, black robed tyrants and black suited lawyers run all branches of government,
I just imagine all these lazy-ass people that can’t be bothered to go to the polls for some reason or another while our country dies. Not just Missouri, but all these GOP strongholds that go to the rats. We have one coming up in western Pa. that the rats might pick up.
The Senate seated Jones. Under the Constitution, their decision as to elections of their members is final (Article II, section 5). There is nothing Moore can do at this point.
Wow, that is crappy. Losing 2 seats out of 4 held by the GOP. Does that mean there is some wind behind the Democrat sails?
Yeah, but why the House over the Senate? The Senate is razor thin. Don’t the Republicans have a massive majority in the House right now?
Sort of what I think at times. There is like what, 4 GOP Senators that would NOT be eager to impeach Trump? The rest hate him enough to maybe do so.
??? Is this part of the FEDERAL House, or simply for the State?
State.
It’s state. Republicans hold a super-majority.
Republicans hold 115 House seats
Rats have 47 seats.
Careful, pointing out the obvious concerning the serious trouble the GOP is in the midterms could get you banned or suspended as a concern troll.
