Winners and losers from the House memo detailing FBI surveillance abuses
The Washington Times ^ | February 3, 2018 | Washington Times Staff

With President Trump’s blessing, House Republicans released a declassified bombshell memo Friday revealing that the FBI relied on a partisan and unverified anti- Trump dossier to justify spying on a Trump campaign aide during the presidential race in 2016.

As a result of that decision, here are the winners and losers:

WINNERS

President Donald Trump : The memo paints a partisan bias atop the FBI against the president. Also the dubious way the FBI initially obtained a FISA warrant for Trump aide Carter Page will likely impact public perception of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling.

‘Dubious’ way the FBI obtained a FISA warrant? There was nothing ‘dubious’ about it. The highest levels of federal law enforcement in the United States conspired to defraud the court for the sole purpose of manipulating the outcome of a presidential election.

‘Dubious’ doesn’t really cover it.

Was Carter Page completely set up, or is there anything to the Dems claims of previous FISC action and supposed multiple Moscow trips, recruitment, etc.? What is the truth, since I cannot take the Dems at face value?

A civil suit may do more damage in the long run. Hit them in their wallets, tie their assets up in protracted litigation. Their assists can be frozen prior to trial if plaintiffs’ lawyers can convince the court that the defendants are flight risks, which they are.

Defendants will *try* to claim immunity as government employees acting in the “scope of employment”. But, this is so far outside the normal scope, so unreasonable, so unconscionable, that I think that defense would fail.

The biggest challenge would be finding impartial judges and/or jurors.

I don’t know the truth. I believe his possible action may have something to do with the FISC using phony dossier in issuing warrant.

I like Trumps response on Rosenstein, “you figure that one out”

It’s nebulous and gives Trump space, and lets Rosenstein twist in the wind. Do you think Rosenstein will be working on the fake Russian collusion investigation, or will be be crapping his pants and trying to find which countries don’t have an extradition treaty with the US. In the meantime, the IG can ask Rosenstein some more questions. Trump is giving Rosenstein a little more rope here. I’m sure that Trump has dealt with traitorous high level employees in the past, and as long as they are employed, he can watch them a little closer.

“and as long as they are employed, he can watch them a little closer.”

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!!

Trump's problem here is he is used to handling inside treachery one way: fire them. Here he has to be careful because he has that scum Mueller itching to drop an obstruction charge on him via the grand jury. His wingman, rip van sessions, is asleep at the wheel and figures as long as he does not do anything, he is free as a bird from any problems whereas if he sticks his recused nose in, problems could come.

Nunes has to keep his foot on the throttle, full blast...we need get into the white house with this. Time is of the essence. If left to stew, we end up with nothing but the usual obfuscation by the media.

What about John McCain? Seems he might've been instrumental in getting bogus opposition research with a goal of stopping Trump's campaign. When that failed, the research he initiated was handed over to hillary.

Isn't that enough for the 'pubs to demand he leave the US Senate in disgrace? I'm wondering if he didn't announce he was dying to avoid accountability.

Yep, McLame is in this up to his neck. It should be more than enough for the GOP to show him the door in disgrace.

In my view that’ll never happen even if the brain thing never happened, for some reason they seem to worship the ground he walks on.
