Roger L Simon: Why Did the Democrats Lie So Baldly about the Memo
pjmedia.com ^ | Roger L Simon

Posted on 02/03/2018 4:32:36 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Adam Schiff, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, among seemingly dozens of Democrats, not to mention half the mainstream media, had been warning us for days that the release of the memo authored by Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee would place our national security at grave risk. "Sources and methods" would be revealed.

Now that we have seen the memo, it's clear that was an absolutely bald-faced lie of the most obvious sort. Nothing in it impacts national security in the slightest. There's no mention whatsoever of any "sources and methods."

Unless they were lobotomized, those Democrats and their dependable PR team (aka the media) must have realized they were blatantly lying to the American public. Evidently, they didn't care. How're we now supposed to trust what these people say about anything? Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

*snip*

So what was up here below the surface? It can't just be the "evil party" trying to live up to its nickname, although that certainly happened.

It seems this particular lie was a last line of defense — for now — against a coming potential Armageddon for their party. This memo, bad as it is, is apparently only the first of many, a small percentage of what is to come. And the Democrats know it.

Fear is operative. Maybe panic. An entire weltanschauung is under threat — jobs, friends, self-image, who knows what. If this goes on much longer and much more comes out, some Democrats -—not apparatchik Schiff, needless to say, but others — might have to face reality and say something. A few journalists (not at CNN, but maybe someplace else) might have to report the truth.

“Will some of the lesss corrupt Democrats even consider switching to Republicans as the Democrats will seem like a dirty word come mid terms and no one will want anything to do with it.”

It’s THE SYSTEM. Good people who run for office as Democrats and actually care about the country are simply WEEDED OUT very early. Either they don’t get any significant money, or they get Primaried out, or both. So all that’s left is the HATE AMERICA bunch at the higher levels of the Democrat Party.

And it’s not just them - Republicans are just as bad, in fact, probably worse. Think about it - the Republican base wants SERIOUS border security, which to them (i.e., us) means building the wall - and by HUGE MARGINS. But when the 17th Republican to announce their run for office, Trump, states that he will build the wall, what is the reaction from the other 16? They want TRUMP strung up and are adamant that he doesn’t represent the party.

So what’s the problem here when I can walk into any rural diner in, say, Michigan and find a conservative willing to put his neck out and even run for office on building a wall - yet 16 of 17 candidates consider the wall a HATE CRIME? Well, like the Dems, the answer is at the lower levels - you want money from the Cooks, for example, to run for state office, you had better be for OPEN BORDERS - and that applies to virtually all other major Republican donors. So you get a bunch of 16 of them who despise any effort to build a wall.

I saw an analysis on a legal web site speculating the delay in sentencing was because the defendant was “singing” and being even more cooperative ... possibly to get Trump. Defendant’s attorneys had to agree to the delay which they did.

One of the most effective strategies for dealing with a scandal of this magnitude is to roll it out slowly in a way that each new revelation adds more questions to the pile. If you go back over the last year since Trump was inaugurated, this is pretty much how the whole thing has unfolded.

Fake News. If he were singing, details would be leaking to the MSM. Meuller’s team is a sieve, with him possibly being the worst leaker. Consider his dearest comrade, Comey. Birds of a feather, and all that.

To them, the preservation of the Constitution and the 4th Amendment are not nearly as important as political expediency - preservation of the Constitution equates to a "Constitutional crisis"....

If we can't get reliable oversight of FISA and make penalties for the smallest abuses so severe that a person would either be incarcerated for life or executed, we need to do away with FISA.

All the Rank and file Dems I have known are like this. They know their pols are liars and thieves. It doesn’t bother them. The only thing that would turn them is if their pols decided redistributing wealth was a bad idea.

That’s what I’m wondering. Who has oversight of the FISA court? Its Trump related decisions clearly need to be reviewed. In fact, it clearly needs much more than that.
It needs a top down IG type inspection. Maybe even a commission of some sort to assess its functioning in the post 9/11 era.

One way or another, an overhaul of the FISA system will probably be part of the fallout of this thing if the Republicans play their cards right. Doing so would be consistent with some of Nunes’s statements.

Funny how it was the Dems who screamed bloody murder at Dubya’s expansion of surveillance powers and now it turns out they’re the very ones to abuse those powers in the lowest of ways.

Mueller is under a standing order by the judge in that case to turn over any new evidence relating to the guilt of the defendant and/or information that might weigh in the sentencing. That court order was signed AFTER Flynn’s plea deal. I think it’s safe to assume Flynn’s sentencing had been delayed because Mueller knows a whole boatload of evidence about the FISA surveillance of Flynn is going to be made public in the coming weeks.

Still waiting for a Democrat with a shred of dignity to come forward and stand against their party’s corruption. Stand against Pelosi and Schumer and make history.

Who has oversight of the FISA court?

There definitely needs to be some mechanism for routine oversight and review of what the FISA court and any other secret court is doing. Maybe a civilian board of experienced judges, or a special category of IGs. And then even congressional review in extraordinary circumstances such as those at present.

There appears to be no routine process where the decisions of a FISA court can be reviewed, or where anyone damaged by improper decisions can seek redress.

We really need to thank a Just and Merciful Lord for President Donald Trump.
Without him in office none of this would ever have seen the light of day and the abuse pedal would be stuck to the floor.

Watergate 2.0 will be just like Watergate 1.0. The precious middle of the road voters will watch at first out of curiosity, then horror, and then rage. They will be lost to the Rats for decades.

And that gigantic question about all the unmaskings is still just hanging out there with no detailed answers yet, AFAIK.

The squirrely plantation black democrats Believe the courts and cops are biased and stacked against them. They Believe the school to prison pipeline. They know looting is okay cause looting is retrieving what is theirs.

I can imagine their discussions when they process the facts that the FBI manufactured evidence and lied to the courts to convict innocent people!

Secret Court set up after 9/11 because of the threat of terrorism SOMEHOW unaccountably used against American citizens. HMMMMM . . .

I.e. not a bug but by design?

Yep. If the judge really was conned, why hasn’t he or she called them all back into court to explain themselves, and hold them in contempt for misleading the court (a felony)? He has the power to do so.

A Major source of FBI methodology was revealed. The FBI fabricates evidence all the time to get wire taps and search warrants. It’s how they operate and do business. The fact that it is unconstitutional is beyond their comprehension. When you are this powerful rules are for the little people.

Seems their handlers lied to them - so they lied to us... and no one calls them on it.

Well, other than Roger L Simon - and he’ll be seen as an outlier...
