The release of the Nunes memo and the delay in Flynn's sentence didn't happen in the same week due to some strange coincidence.
I think he narrows his focus too much when he calls this a "distraction."
More likely, the Nunes memo was released to give every person who is being targeted by the Mueller team (think Paul Manafort, for example) the grounds to flood Mueller's office, the FBI, and even Congress with subpoenas for any and all documents related to the FISA surveillance.
I've been saying for months that a second special counsel is the wrong way to pursue these @ssholes in our legal system. A better approach is to expose and destroy them through an effective, aggressive defense strategy in criminal cases that have already been opened by the existing special counsel.
