RUSH: We have Catherine Herridge at Fox News with two different sound bites here.
HERRIDGE: The memo states that a high-ranking law enforcement official told the House Intelligence Committee in a closed-door session that the bureau would not have obtained a surveillance warrant for Trump campaign aide without the controversial dossier funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign. We also understand the memo states the FBI and Justice Department, in their application to the highly secret surveillance court known as the FISA court, used media reporting to lend credibility to the dossier that was compiled by the opposition research firm Fusion GPS.
RUSH: And here is the next bite. This is about an hour ago, a little over an hour ago from Catherine Herridge. But I just want you to hear it from other sources.
HERRIDGE: Whats key here is that Fox has previously reported based on British court records that former British spy Christopher Steele briefed six American media outlets on the dossier and the allegations against then-candidate Trump. So this does appear to be circular reporting that was used to lend credibility to the dossier. After Steeles contact was cut off with the bureau, we now understand the four-page memo states that Steele and Fusion GPS, the firm behind the Trump dossier, continued to pass information to the FBI through the Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr, who was recently demoted over his contacts with Fusion GPS and Steele. We are also told that there is evidence that Steele had a personal animus against then-candidate Trump.
RUSH: Its worse than a personal animus. He told Ohr that he detested Trump and didnt want Trump getting anywhere near the White House. We were not told that. Christopher Steele has been a guy who, in fact, in many places has been reported as a fine agent, retired MI6, fine, fine guy, has done great work in the past. Hes kind of been out of the game for the past couple of years, but they found him, and the guy does credible work. Thats what we were told.
We were not told this guy pretty much hated Trump. We were not told this guy was in this because he detested Trump and that he was passionate about Trump not making it to the White House. And another big thing, we thought that they had other things besides the dossier in their FISA application. They had nothing. I mean, they wouldnt have had enough for a FISA warrant application without the dossier. And they knew of its political origins! They knew it wasnt intel when they went to the FISA court to get the application to spy, to get the warrant. They knew all this. And here is President Trump and his reaction. This is from the Oval Office earlier today.
THE PRESIDENT: I think its terrible, if you want to know the truth. I think its a disgrace, whats going on in this country. I think its a disgrace. The memo was sent to Congress, it was declassified, Congress will do whatever theyre going to do. But I think its a disgrace whats happening in our country. And when you look at that and you see that and so many other things, whats going on, a lot of people should be ashamed of themselves and much worse than that. So I sent it over to Congress, and they will do what theyre going to do. Whatever they do is fine. It was declassified. And lets see what happens. But a lot of people should be ashamed.
RUSH: Thats the president. A lot of people should be ashamed. Its a disgrace. People should be ashamed. Its a disgrace. Congress declassified it. What theyre gonna do is what theyre gonna do. Well see. Its a disgrace. People should be ashamed. Its a disgrace. I dont know what Congress is gonna do, its horrible, its a shame, I really mean it.
The disgrace began on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009.
BOTH parties cooperated to make it happen.
And all Rush could find to talk in the third hour was his App and 67 year old female sex desires.
Unless and until Trump fires “No department is perfect” Sessions, this all goes nowhere, and the Leftist Media/Democrat Complex wins. Its all up to Trump
People need to be a lot more than ashamed. They need to be imprisoned.
Conspiring to defraud the FISA court for the sole purpose of manipulating the outcome of a presidential election.
And they damn near pulled it off. Thank God for us. And that Hillary is as awful as she is.
And thank God especially that he put a strong man in the path of such evil doers.
That’s it “Ashamed”? Really?
ditto what you said! I pray daily with Thanks that we had Trump there is keep that criminal out of the WH. America would have been completely lost by now forever.
Very mild remarks from a man who was almost taken out by the deep state.
The Mueller investigation is dead.
Politicab bias has crippled it, irrevocably tainting its legitimacy.
This is no longer about alleged Russian meddling/collusion. This is about illegal government surveillance of an opposition campaign under the pretext it was working on behalf of a foreign power.
And it relied on incomplete/falsified representations to the FISA court to conduct that surveillance. Watergate is minor stuff compared to what we heard today.
Any action by Mueller against the President will be compromised by dubious motives. The President is right this is a complete disgrace and reflects badly on the top ranks in Justice, the FBI and the SC’s office.
Trump’s enemies can spin it but in they made Trump look good, certainly not their intention. Impeachment is now off the tab
my comment above said as much. I am kind of wondering why the low key response from Rush. seemed like he wanted to mention it and quickly move on to his App and sex lives of older women.
In today’s politicized world I don’t see a court/jury in America that would vote to find guilt of a single one of them.
What at you talking about? He spent the first two hours on the memo
The Democrats/fake news media hate Trump.
Nothing will change their minds and they’ll spin away/ignore/bury the truth.
Neverthless, I believe a page was turned today.
Russia was never real, just an excuse to try to hound Trump out of office through impeachment.
With that gone, they’ll still be looking for ways to limit/block/subvert Trump’s agenda.
the memo discussion had run its course
Imho, this story is way bigger than Watergate and goes to the heart of our Constitution. There was an active Coup d tat in progress that was broken up, and who for the past 30 years has been the go patriot? Rush. So, I felt his low-key response today was a bit mysterious. I’m still confused and questioning what was up with him.
I bet they didn’t realize how physically ill she was.
Plus she thought the fix was in.
Meanwhile, Trump was doing 2 or 3 rallies a day ..with 10k plus in attendance.
Trump literally savedvAmerica!
IMO, the other shoe has yet to drop. The President, Jeff Sessions, Rush Limbaugh, maybe others are understating the bigger issues. Not Rush so much I thought he covered everything.
The coup happened on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009.
What is going on now is the struggle to re-establish the Constitution and the rule of law.
