Right. My question was: did the FISA court just rubber stamp the renewal every time they were asked to renew it, or did they ever ask (as required when granting these things) “Do you have a separate finding of probable cause for the renewal?”

Is the approving FISA judge known to the public?

Actually, the FISA court would not approve as first presented. The FBI had to take back the request and they then re-submitted, excluding materials of truth that would have cause the court to reject the requests ... the whole proposed sting was being orchestrated and required hiding facts from the FISA court.
