I have not voted dem once since moving to TX from Kali (the land of my birth). Of course, I did not vote dem when I lived in Kali either. I think one of the reasons that places like Kali and NY have gotten more blue over the years is that those in the middle, trying to achieve (or maintain) their personal economic prosperity have gone to areas where they could ahead. I don’t think that dynamic will be altered. If anything, dems will look to relocate into places that are cheaper, sure, but have some of “their kind of people”. Idaho, Colorado, Ohio, or Louisiana are better bets for influxes of dems.
What it really means is any remaining conservatives in Blue states will hit the road.
They crap where they eat until the whole place is crapped up. Then they move to uncrapped areas and repeat the process.
“There may actually be something to this. Transplants from $h!t-hole states like CA and IL have turned Nashville into a “blue island” in a red state.”
Tell me about it. I live in northern Virginia, and I’m surrounded by “Hate Has No Home Here” signs.
The truth is how many blue states will turn purple, and how many purple states will turn cherry red.
Right now, there are 32 states with Republican controlled legislatures. The magic numbers are 34, to call a constitutional convention and 38, to change the constitution.
I think the taxpayers will be voting for Trump Supporters in 2018...I think you’ll see surprises in even blue states...(Connecticut might flip the governorship. Until Dannel Malloy, the last D was William O’Neil in the 1980s. And he was conservative!)

Yes, that was during the time when CT did not even have a State tax. It was then Gov. Lowell Weicker who gave CT its state tax in 1991 and the state has been on a downward spiral ever since.
No, it will happen by 2030 for sure unless there is a radical change in demographic trends.
Georgia is also very close to going blue for the same reason.
Trump won an incredibly narrow victory. Congressional seats are gerrymandered to favor the GOP because they controlled the last two redistrictings. The 2020 Census will see a huge increase the number of Democratic voters who have to be put somewhere. It will be really hard in many states to pack the increased number of D voters in the same few districts like they are now.
We can’t get over confident. Trump’s victory was like a tying three pointer at the buzzer that keeps us in a game we were about to lose. It’s way too early to get cocky.
True...and in 1994, I was out campaigning for Tom Scott, since he wanted to ax the tax...The Hartford Courant had a picture of us at his headquarters (Berlin Turnpike at a former auto dealers) on Election Day when Newt help win the House. The income tax was supposed to lower the sales tax....which was BS...(I met L. P. Weicker in the 70s on a class trip. He was an a$$, I voted Lieberman against Weicker, but if Weicker won, I wonder if CT would have been better...) I’d think Weicker wouldn’t have been governor...
