Pennsylvanias Democratic Party chairman says hes acceding to Gov. Tom Wolfs request that he resign in the wake of his comments to a columnist about the partys responses to sexual misconduct allegations against politicians.
In a statement Friday, Marcel Groen said he didnt agree with Wolfs assessment, but didnt want to be a distraction to the party. At one point in The Philadelphia Inquirers column , Groen says Wolf is already unhappy with him.

Those of us in Wolfie’s home town of York, PA, who know him, know he is used to getting his own way, spoiled little rich kid that he is. He refused to support me when I ran for York city controller because, and he was clear about this, he does not support Republicans. The result is a crime ridden, financially broke, overtaxed, declining, city.
