Just about everyone is missing the point. Yes, there were abuses and people need to be prosecuted. But the public is not going to do that, only some sort of investigation. Redacting the names in the public release makes no difference to an investigation. Having no names in the release does not make an investigation more or less likely.

There's loads of time. Plus the names don't change the facts. If the wiretapping was illegal, as Trump said almost a year ago, then it was illegal. It doesn't matter who did it, it is prosecutable and will be, eventually.
