The memo was apparently edited by the White House as recommended by the FBI and DOJ after 5 FBI employees met with Gen Kelly (ain’t that so sweet).
What authority does the POTUS have to edit a congressional document? I thought his authority was to release or not release the document.
I hadn’t heard that. Where did that information come from?
If he objects, the committee can vote to send the matter to the whole house. The house has the power to publicly disclose the memo over the president's reasoned objection.
Did President approved of the edits? Did White House lawyers approved as well? I cant imagine Trump or the lawyers allow Kelly to make any changes just because the FBI is embarrassed about their own actions! The only way I can see approval of changes now would be because theres some kind of ongoing investigation with an informant and a name or something done is redacted for legal reasons but I doubt that right now
What the heck?
