My mother was my last source of info, lost her in 2014 but she had limited info on my father’s side. My father died in 1985 at 62, I was 29..my interest didn’t peak until about 10-15 years ago on geneology and any WWII-CBI info I can find on my father. I have some info on the WWII stuff but would love to ask my father a ton of questions..

I can go back a few generations, in what was the Austro-Hungarian Empire and a very great deal of my extended maternal family in America.

I have pictures of my great, great grandparents, but never met them. But by great grandmother died when I was 7, so, yes, I knew her then and all about her, from my grandmother and her sister. I also know about my maternal granddfather's family and knew all of his siblings and even some of his aunts & uncles.

My father's side? Not as much.

My mother forbid me from ever going to Hungary ( she said that those STINKING COMMIES should NEVER get any American dollars ), so I didn't go, but now that they are FREE, I'd love to go; however, some of my ancestral places now belong to other nations. :-(

I went to a Halloween party when RFK was running for Senator———it was a politically themed party and I was a carpetbagger———I still have a pic from that.

One of my friends was a nurse in her white uniform(remember them?) and her husband came as an injured Ted Kennedy who had broken his back in a plane crash.

Seems like yesterday.
