President Trump reportedly told then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe that he should ask his wife, who had lost a bid for political office in Virginia, how it felt to be a loser, NBC News reported Monday.
Trump made the remarks in a phone call to McCabe the day he fired FBI Director James Comey that was placed to demand why Comey was allowed to fly on a FBI plane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., after being fired.
McCabe told Trump that he hadn’t been asked about the flight but that he would have authorized it if he had.
Trump fell silent before lashing out at McCabe and telling him to ask his wife what it felt like to be a loser, according to NBC. The FBI head replied, “OK, sir,” before Trump ended the call.
McCabe’s wife had run as a Democrat for state office in Virginia but had lost the race.
As part of that political bid, she accepted nearly $500,000 in donations from a super PAC linked to Hillary Clinton and former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
Trump has repeatedly noted the link between McCabe and Clinton, and has criticized McCabe publicly over Twitter.
He also reportedly asked McCabe who he voted for during an introductory meeting in the Oval Office.
The new report comes the same day it was reported that McCabe was stepping down as deputy director of the FBI amid attacks by Trump and Republicans.

Bet a paycheck it was something personable after the meat and potatoes of the conversation like, “By the way, how’s your wife doing? I understand she lost her election. She feeling ok about it?”
And this seditious traitor McCabe turned it into “Trump asked me how my wife liked being a loser”.
Trump is a good guy, McCabe is a liar and a backstabber. Guaranteed it’s something like this.

I hope this story is true. Good for you President Trump for treating trash as it should be.
I’m skeptical of the “truthiness” of McCabe telling Trump he “would have authorized it”. Insubordination doesn’t fly with graduates of military schols.
I think that’s supposed to be a bear trap, but now that there are so many people listed it’s mostly hidden behind their photos and no longer easily identifiable for you old codgers in bifocals. :-)
Because the Dossier was used to dupe the FISA court long before McCain was given the dossier and passed it to the FBI.
I suspect that giving the dossier to the gullible McCain, known to dislike Trump, was the “insurance policy” so he would be blamed, not the Hillary campaign, and they figured if anyone tried to trace the chain of custody and got sidetracked to McCain by all the media finger-pointing, that would be as far as any investigation would go.
OJ dodged those charges. Let’s hope the same can’t be said for these two.
