Trump: 'Democrats Do Not Want to Solve DACA'

President Donald J. Trump returned to Twitter today in typical fashion after a quick trip overseas for the World Economic Forum. President Trump jumped right back into the debate over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA), accusing Democrats of not actually wanting to solve the problem.

I have offered DACA a wonderful deal, including a doubling in the number of recipients & a twelve year pathway to citizenship, for two reasons: (1) Because the Republicans want to fix a long time terrible problem. (2) To show that Democrats do not want to solve DACA, only use it!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 28, 2018

Last September, President Trump rescinded former President Obama’s executive order which shielded more than 800,000 illegal immigrants from deportation because they were brought into the country as children. In an effort to curb executive overreach and shift responsibility back in the hands of the legislative branch, Trump gave Congress a six month ultimatum to fix the DACA issue. If the Senate and the House cannot come up with an agreement that Trump can sign, he will deal with the issue himself. That deadline is quickly approaching in March.

In another tweet, President Trump also claimed tat Democrats are not interested in "Border Safety & Security"  but only in "obstruction."

Democrats are not interested in Border Safety & Security or in the funding and rebuilding of our Military. They are only interested in Obstruction!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 28, 2018

It is unclear what deal will be reached between the two sides, but Washington Times columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Hurt echoed similar sentiments to the White House today, saying that the current plans before Congress are by far the "most centrist immigration" plan in more than 30 years.

DACA ends in March no matter what.

Deferred Action by definition means that action will be taken in the future. That deferral was deportation.

There is no point of any of this, until the wall is built.

Once the border is secure, you can then talk about all the illegal aliens that are on this side of the border and their eventual placement.

If any have commited a felony while here, those individuals need to be the first deported. These individuals have committed repeated criminal acts, the first being crossing our border without permission. They compound the act by additional acts.

You’re absolutely right. They don’t want the solution but just the (politically advantageous) issue. And they want to keep it going as long as they can.

Thank you! You are on target.

From your "about" page, on what is referred to as "mainstreet media": "They are OLD MEDIA. I beg each of you to consider the subtle compliment you give them every time you call them "mainstream."

The thought often has occurred to me that we, and Trump, have misdiagnosed their identity. You, on the other hand, accurately describe them as, "old media."

To expand on that thought, that group of 2017-18 "old media" outlets and "journalists" represent Old World and 20th Century ideas which classify and assign individuals to "classes," and/or "identities," in order to use them as foils for their socialistic plans/"changes" to America.

Progressives, as they self-identify, are not "progressive" at all.

Instead, their so-called "progressive ideology" cares not a whit about individual freedom, individual rights to freedom of conscience and free expression of ideas, or freedom of individual enterprise.

Progressivism claims and demands a certain conformity and group-think mentality that excludes and condemns freedom of conscience and free expression of ideas: an ideology which, in itself is totalitarian and unacceptable under the Constitution of the United States of America.

Progressivism should be the great fear of all who love individual liberty!

Media "journalists, of all people should laud and praise a free market of ideas. Do they not understand that if that prong of the protections they enjoy under the Constitution is weakened or "goes," so may all the other freedoms the Founders insured by that Constitution's provisions?
