3.2 magnitude-quake detected in N. Korea: weather agency
2018/01/28
SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) -- A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was detected in North Korea on Sunday, Seoul's weather agency said.
The tremor occurred at 8:07 p.m. and the depth at its epicenter was six kilometers, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
The KMA said that the quake was detected 16 kilometers south-southeast of Changjin County in South Hamgyong Province. The weather agency added that it appears to have been a natural quake, not a weapons test.
"Artificial quakes from explosions create sound waves, but there were not sound waves detected this time," a KMA official said. "It's also far from North Korea's nuclear test area."
P!
Nuclear test?
I’d like that number to be about an 8....or 9.
Will everyday North Koreans be allowed into S Korea for the Olympics....or just Kim’s soldiers in regular clothes.
6 kilometer deep epicenter. Definitely not a weapons test. Definitely not much of a earthquake either.
No. But most of them are not soldiers. They do go through strict regimentation, though. To make sure they do not stray. It is commonly assumed that 10% of NK's Olympic contingent are security agents.
Favoring a 9.2 (1964 AK) or a 9.8 whichever is most convenient to arrange.
The mountain collapsed.
Sure would solve a lot of problems if Korea becomes an island and breaks free of China and Russia as a result of an earthquake.
Not that deep. Plus no sound waves. If you were to look at the printout, a nuke doesn’t have a lead up or post event waves.
It was even close to that area.
Uh oh? Kim developed the poof bomb?
The Young Un fell out of bed laughing at the South and the Olympics
